Dark and Darker will make you start from scratch every few months

Firewatch publisher Panic revealed several new titles during its first ever digital games showcase on Tuesday, which can be rewatched in full below.

Last month, it was reported that Ubisoft had cancelled its plans for an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel, and just to rub salt in that recently opened wound, a fresh article from Axios paints the picture of an incredibly intriguing project. At least, on paper.

The sleeper hit PvP dungeon crawler Dark and Darker is still booted off Steam, and the legal dispute between developer Ironmace and Nexon means there's no telling when—or even if—it will come back. So I was a little surprised to hear that plans are now afoot for a mobile version of the game, being developed by none other than PUBG: Battlegrounds publisher Krafton.

Krafton, the publisher behind PUBG Mobile, has announced a new deal with developer Ironmace to bring Dark and Darker to mobile devices. 

Not only does Little Nightmares III exist, but it's also bringing two-player co-op to the series for the first time. Little Nightmares III is due out in 2024, and it's heading to PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Developers from Supermassive Games announced the new entry in the horror franchise at the very beginning of Gamescom Opening Night Live today.

Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk stages a return to the first Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set, with players taking to the streets of Phandalin in a new and improved adventure that Lead Designer Amanda Hamon deems to be "perhaps the strangest adventure" the team has written. The new campaign will make its bid to be one of the best D&D books on September 19.

Dark and Darker classes will now be available for free, meaning players of the Ironmace RPG game can access the Bard and Warlock without spending money. Previously, these two classes were available either through long-term playing or via a real-money purchase. However, in the latest Dark and Darker update, Ironmace says that it is removing this particular microtransaction and will offer refunds to players in the near future. Dark and Darker classes are now all accessible without any expenditure, as we also await the game’s possible return to Steam, and the full Dark and Darker release date.

Remember last month, when Bethesda put out a series of animated Starfield shorts that, presumably, contained some kind of important narrative content? I've kind of glossed over that stuff, because all I paid attention to were the battling mechs it showed off: Bipedal, human-operated war suits caked in grease and diesel that look incredibly cool as they pummel the hell out of one another. It led me, and plenty of others, to ask if we might get a shot at piloting these titans ourselves when Starfield finally releases.
