Pikmin 4 debuts at No. 1 | UK Boxed Charts

Millions of players have been enjoying Splatoon 3 since it dropped in 2022, and one of the biggest “outlets” for them to funnel their joy through has been the Splatfests. To be fair, unlike past titles, the Splatfests haven’t always been consistent in their release within the new game. Sometimes they took a back seat to the new “Big Run” events or other things going down. However, Nintendo and the people at Squid Research Labs have felt the need to have back-to-back months with Splatfests again. The good news for you is that Splatoon 3 is hosting the next Splatfest later today.

Upon its launch a couple of weeks ago, Pikmin 4 dominated the weekly Japan physical sales charts with over 400,000 units sold at retail, and followed that up with over 115,000 units sold in its second week. As per the newest data released by Famitsu, it has topped those charts yet again, making it three weeks in a row for the strategy title, selling over 78,000 units during the week (with lifetime physical sales in Japan climbing to nearly 600,000 units).

Pikmin 4 has topped the Japanese physical game charts for the third week running.

A for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been released, showing off the two iconic legendary Pokémon from Kanto.

PlayStation 5 titles maintained their stronghold of the UK physical charts for the second week running.

Pikmin 4 saw a stellar debut in Japan upon its launch last week with over 400,000 physical copies sold, and it has continued to enjoy strong sales in its second week. As per the latest weekly hardware and physical software sales charts released by Famitsu, Nintendo’s strategy title topped software charts for a second week running, with over 115,000 physical copies sold in Japan in its second week (taking its total physical sales in the region to over 517,000 units).

With Season 6 and Invasion out next week for Overwatch 2, Blizzard is starting the hype cycle with a short teaser for its next animated short. “Calling” focuses on Vivian Chase, aka Sojourn, and it seems that after Overwatch’s disbandment, she’s a superhero on the side. Consequences are seemingly in store, though.

PS5 games have jumped up the UK physical charts following a 75% increase in console sales.

Apex Legends’ cinematic story, Kill Code, has received its second part leading to Season 18: Resurrection. Starting with Loba, Valkyrie, Mad Maggie and Lifeline escaping from a secret facility, we see the elegant thief hacking into a fragment of Revenant, her arch-nemesis. However, in the end, the latter faces severe changes and becomes enraged.
