A new gameplay video of Persona 5: The Phantom X highlights a rhythm-based mini-game that fans can play. Persona 5: The Phantom X is an upcoming mobile and PC spin-off of the Persona franchise. Unlike the game it is based off of, The Phantom X is similar to gacha games like Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy, with this game being developed by Black Wings Studio and published by Perfect World Games. Despite being a very different game from the original Persona 5, it carries a lot of the same DNA in terms of story, characters, and gameplay elements.
Persona 5: The Phantom X has had a few beta events for fans to participate in, though the game is currently China-exclusive. Despite the game being a region-exclusive release and having a number of polarizing mechanics like the gacha summoning system, a number of English-speaking players and other fans outside the demographic are interested in an International release of Persona 5: The Phantom X. The game is currently hosting an open beta, which has resulted in somePhantom X gameplay videos being posted, highlighting new mechanics and changes compared to previous beta footage, like a new rhythm mini-game.
Posted by JRPG and Persona YouTuber Faz, his latest video highlights a rhythm game mode, where the player character, Wonder, joins what appears to be a band club in order to play with other students at his school, with Wonder playing the bass guitar. Much like other similar rhythm games, players have to either match the rhythm's beats in time, either holding the note that corresponds to the keys on a keyboard if the game is played on a PC, or the touchscreen if the game is played on a phone. The aim is to get a high score by playing on beat and not missing any notes.
Fans familiar with the Persona dancing spin-off games will likely be familiar with this gameplay style and the requirements to get a high score. Faz shows that there are a number of unlockable songs available to play in Persona 5: The Phantom X, including some of the game's original tracks, like «Wake Up Your Hero,» «Last Strike,» and «Shadow Loop.» A number of songs from the original Persona 5 are also available to play in this mini-game, including «Life Will Change,» Last Surprise," and «Blooming Villain,» to name a few.
Some other changes made in this new open beta include a new animated opening movie for Persona 5: The Phantom X, an extended cinematic sequence showing one of the game's party members, Shun Kanou/Soy, awakening to his Persona, and even some Confidant-esque interactions with characters like Kayo Toyama, a surprisingly popular character from Persona 5: The Phantom X.

is an incredible game, there's no doubt about that, but one aspect that developer Arrowhead Studios has promised to re-evaluate is the implementation of the «auto-climb» mechanic that has frustrated many since launch. To help facilitate more tactical gameplay without sacrificing too much in the way of speed, incorporates a system that allows players to automatically vault onto or over an obstacle that gets in their way while sprinting. While it works most of the time, when it decides to grow a mind of its own the consequences can be extremely annoying.
