PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted announced for November 30

Telltale Games has laid off an unknown portion of its staff, in an unfortunate deja vu moment for a handful of its employees. 

Bethesda is playing the long game with Starfield, with future updates looking to add and update features and quality of life improvements, seemingly including those city maps everyone wants. The sci-fi RPG's modding community has already outlined over 240 problems to iron out, and the broader player population is still regularly and loudly talking about a recurring pain point: vendors don't have enough money to buy all your crap. 

Alientrap, the devs behind Cryptark, are back for more. This time, it’s taking its experience with procedural generation and giving it a first-person twist with a sequel titled Gunhead. Described as an “FPS Jetpack Roguelike,” the team’s latest is now locked in for November 8 on PC and PlayStation 5. The release date was announced today during the Realms Deep digital event. You can see how it looks in action in the new trailer below.

As part of today's splash of PSVR2 news from Sony, it's been confirmed Tiger Blade will launch for the headset on 17th November 2023. Catch the trailer above to see this flashy, stylish game in action, complete with colourful sword fighting and gunplay in an alternate take on Korea.

Ascent of Ashes will be released into early access on November 15th, Vivid Storm Interactive and Camlann Games have confirmed. The dystopian colony sim challenges players to build a colony with the some of the last humans, in a world that is incredibly hostile with many at war with each other. Players will be engaged in these battles, but can focus on creating a settlement that provides safety for survivors, each of whom has their own skills to help the colony thrive.

Sony has been working hard over the last several years to take their console-exclusive titles and bring them to PC so that they can reach a new audience and potentially expand the success of their IPs. Sure enough, many titles they’ve put on PC have done well, including the games with Kratos, Joel and Ellie, Spider-Man, and more. One of the others that has also done well on PC is Aloy, whose first adventure was brought to PC a while back, and then many wondered when the sequel would come. Well, Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition has officially been announced for PC.

Update, 9/25/23: During Capcom's Tokyo Game Show presentation, the publisher announced that Resident Evil Village and its Winters' Expansion are coming to iOS on October 30. The game will be playable on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad Air and iPad Pro with the M1 chip or later. The Winters' Expansion includes the Shadows of Rose story campaign.

Rocket Panda Games has announced Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate, a remastered version of the side-scrolling beat ’em up game rebuilt from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2024 worldwide.

Xbox announced a slew of new titles coming to its Game Pass subscription service this year. At its Tokyo Game Show segment, held Thursday, the publisher confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available to members for free on day one i.e., November 9. In it, Kazama Kiryu, the famous Yakuza who faked his death to protect his family, slips into the black suit once again and works as a bodyguard codenamed ‘Joryu.' His cover is soon threatened when a mysterious figure with ties to the past comes to haunt him, spawning a crazed frenzy across the streets of Japan, as we punch our way through hordes.

Microsoft made a number of announcements during its Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, most of which revolved around Japan and Japan-inspired games and updates. Xbox boss Phil Spencer and Head of Xbox Creator Experience Sarah Bond talked about the importance of the Japanese market. "Japan will always have a special place in my heart for pioneering innovative ways to play, from the Game Boy, to PSP, to the Switch," Spencer said.

SUCCESS Corporation has announced IZUNA (title tentative), a revival of the DS title Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja for Switch and PC. A release date was not announced.
