October’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue titles have been revealed, via a reliable leaker.

Telltale Games has laid off an unknown portion of its staff, in an unfortunate deja vu moment for a handful of its employees. 

Bethesda is playing the long game with Starfield, with future updates looking to add and update features and quality of life improvements, seemingly including those city maps everyone wants. Nearly 18 months after its initial unveiling, Blizzard's free-to-play strategy game Warcraft Rumble has a release date and will be launching for iOS and Android on 3rd November, its arrival coinciding with the start of this year's BlizzCon.

Willy Wonka's chocolate factory is already a rather sinister affair, but Twisted Tower, revealed at this year's Realms Deep showcase, is determined to take that concept and dial it up a few more notches. It's a game that looks to mash together a generous helping of BioShock's 1920s art deco setting with Roald Dahl's eerie novel, swapping out confectionery for toys and a disturbingly deadly game show.

Fortnite developer Epic Games is set to lay off 870 employees as it seeks to lower costs, a Bloomberg report reveals. In a memo sent to workers earlier today, chief executive officer Tim Sweeney said the company had been spending a lot more money than it was earning for quite some time. He said: «I had long been optimistic that we could power through this transition without layoffs, but in retrospect I see this was unrealistic.»

While there’s still some debate over just how real the reveal trailer for Phantom Blade Zero was during a recent State of Play livestream, its prequel is already almost here. Due out on 2nd November on PS5 and PS4, as well as various mobile devices and PC, the side-scrolling Phantom Blade: Executioners will get the story started – and will be free-to-play. You can’t trust Nathan Fielder. That was the basic premise of Nathan For You, his seminal Comedy Central series about reinventing local businesses in absurd, nonsensical ways that pushed the limits of reality television. He took things further in The Rehearsal, an HBO docu-series where Fielder would help people “rehearse” in preparation for difficult moments in their lives, to an uncomfortably mind-bending degree.

This year's Tokyo Game Show saw 243,238 participants visit the event, show organiser CESA has confirmed, which is double the attendance of last year.

January 2024 will be literally loaded with games that gamers will have to pick and choose from to see what they play first or how many they’ll be able to afford. At the Tokyo Game Show, producers Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray did a special stream of the title so they could drop details for fans. Xbox announced a slew of new titles coming to its Game Pass subscription service this year. At its Tokyo Game Show segment, held Thursday, the publisher confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available to members for free on day one i.e., November 9. In it, Kazama Kiryu, the famous Yakuza who faked his death to protect his family, slips into the black suit once again and works as a bodyguard codenamed ‘Joryu.' His cover is soon threatened when a mysterious figure with ties to the past comes to haunt him, spawning a crazed frenzy across the streets of Japan, as we punch our way through hordes.
