Magic: The Gathering’s fancy Lord of the Rings art sets make great stocking stuffers

It’s been a year of improvisation for the team at Wizards of the Coast. Flush with the success of Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth— its blockbuster Universes Beyond collaboration with the Tolkien estate — the Seattle-based publisher has decided to try something entirely new with Scene Boxes, each containing six cards designed for display, in addition to six playable cards and three Set Boosters. Thankfully, this new endeavor is a novel innovation that pays off, thanks in part to a relatively low price point and perfect clarity as to what comes inside the box.

How Long Do EV Batteries Last? New Research Suggests It's Way Longer Than You Might Think

For many EV-curious buyers, the fear of spending thousands on a battery replacement at some point could understandably keep them from going electric. But a study done in March by Recurrent, a Seattle-based company that analyzes used electric car batteries, shows this is much less likely to happen than you might think. It's certainly not something every EV owner should plan on doing.

Lamplighter devs Harebrained "part ways" with Paradox as publisher decides against new project in the same genre

Shadowrun and Battletech studio Harebrained Schemes have "parted ways" with Paradox Interactive - or what's left of the company have, at least. Paradox have announced that they're cutting Harebrained loose to pursue publishing opportunities elsewhere following dismal sales of the studio's latest release, swaggering 1930s-set Indiana XCOMalike The Lamplighters League. Paradox will keep ownership of The Lamplighters League and other games developed by Harebrained, though the Crusader Kings publisher have no plans for a project or sequel in the same genre.
