Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Launches May 23rd for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has released a new trailer for the Switch version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door dubbed “Our Story Begins.”

Paper Mario: Thousand-Year Door is set to release in May, bringing back a beloved game by many. This game will be one that brings back many positive memories to fans who enjoyed the first game on the Wii as well.

Nintendo has released a new trailer for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on the Nintendo Switch, showcasing the intro. Much like Mario vs. Donkey Kong, it features gorgeous new graphics and animations. Check it out below.

Nintendo has confirmed the file sizes for the upcoming Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Switch remasters. Both of these games were first announced during the September 2023 Nintendo Direct, and instantly became highly anticipated releases. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a long-awaited remaster of the GameCube original, with Luigi's game being a complete port, bringing the classic title from the Nintendo 3DS to the Switch. Both of these remasters will also add some new gameplay features and remastered graphics.

Mountain climbing adventure game Surmount will launch for Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on May 9, developers Indiana-Jonas and Jasper Oprel announced. A demo is available now for PC via Steam.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has been considered among the best games of its kind for years, and demand for a remake of the RPG has been high for quite long as well. It’s no surprise, then, that ahead of its Switch remake’s looming launch, the game is already attracting quite a bit of people, as evidenced by how it’s performing on Amazon’s sales charts.

Dark fantasy action platformer Saviorless will launch for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on April 2, publisher Dear Villagers and developer Empty Head Games announced.

Paper-folding puzzle adventure game Newfangled Games will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC via Steam, and iOS and Android via Netflix on May 21, developer Newfangled Games announced.

Metroidvania game Venture to the Vile will launch for PC via Steam on May 7 for $24.99, followed by PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in late 2024, publisher Aniplex and developer Cut to Bits announced.
