If there’s one thing that has in spades, it would be mysteries — plenty of which stand to be solved in the DLC. FromSoftware’s storytelling leans heavily on intrigue, encouraging players to go on deep dives into the lore to attempt to piece together the open threads and enigmas presented throughout the game. This is partially what makes the Soulsborne games so great, and might be the best example yet. However, a few answers would go a long way in clarifying some of the more puzzling secrets in the lore.

When I saw one of the first 49-inch ultrawide monitors from Samsung five years ago, I found it to be a curious creation. I was no stranger to the world of ultrawides, but that screen was a bit much. Before the groundbreaking releases of Demon's Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring, developer FromSoftware made its name with the giant robot action series Armored Core. With a cult-following dating back to the original PlayStation, fans embraced the dystopian settings and the fast-paced mech combat. In the period since the studio's massive pivot to the Souls sub-genre that it founded, the Armored Core series went on hiatus.

Though it isn’t going to dwarf the size of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is reportedly a meaty experience on its own. Several publications and content creators went hands-on with the game recently. Fextralife notes that they played 11 missions, which took three hours, and told that the total playtime is 50 to 60 hours.

FromSoftware has been one of the most prestigious developers in the industry for a while now, not only because of how excellent virtually all of its games tend to be, but also because of how many of them the studio has developed in the last decade and a half. Just as impressive, in fact, has been how well the developed has often juggled multiple projects at once, which Yasunori Ogura, producer on the upcoming Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, recently touched on while speaking to PC Gamer.
