The movie tells the story of Miles Morales, the Spider-Man from an alternate universe, who has multiple superpowers that he uses to take down criminals. And if you are a fan of the superhero genre or just Spider-Man, this movie has some great moments for you that you do not want to miss. The best part is that the film has made its digital debut. Greetings, Polygon readers! Each week, we round up the most notable new releases to streaming and VOD, highlighting the biggest and best new movies for you to watch at home.

After a brief stint in cinemas, new Netflix movie The Kitchen is now available to stream. The film marks Daniel Kaluuya's directorial debut, with the actor co-directing with filmmaker and architect Kibwe Tavares. 

Succession and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were the biggest winners at the 2024 Golden Globes awards, which felt a little predictable given how thoroughly they dominated their respective categories — particularly the acting categories, which in a couple of different cases had three Succession performers dueling for the top spot. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie didn’t fare as well in the mix, even though it was nominated in many of the categories — ultimately, it only walked away with Best Original Song and the “Cinematic And Box Office Achievement” award.

Given that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse features hundreds of Spider-People and visits numerous different dimensions, it naturally has countless Easter eggs for fans to spot. We certainly did our best to catch them upon seeing the movie, but there were plenty we missed. And it turns out we are not alone in this, as director trio Kemp Powers, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Justin K. Thompson reveal that they themselves are still uncovering neat references today, months after work on the film was completed.

This year's blockbuster sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse followed in the footsteps of the original film by once again pushing the boundaries of both storytelling and animation. As we joined our hero Miles Morales and co. on another adventure, we visited numerous dimensions including one which was rather brilliantly made with Lego. 

Just like the original film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, this year's much acclaimed sequel Across the Spider-Verse featured an impressive ensemble cast of characters. Whilst the likes of Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Peter B. Parker returned, there were also several exciting new additions from Pavitr Prabhakar (a.k.a. Spider-Man India) to Jess Drew (a.k.a. Spider-Woman).

Jaws dropped on the floor when it was revealed that not only is Miles Morales in the wrong dimension having been sent to Earth-42, but the Miles here is actually the villainous The Prowler. Since Spider-Man doesn't exist in this world, the city is riddled with crime, with Earth-42's Miles being right at the center of it as the villain.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has taken the streaming world by storm, swinging to the top of Nielsen's top 10 chart since its release on Netflix.

The ending of Across the Spider-Verse not only showed Miguel O’Hara and Gwen Stacy going to search for Miles Morales with their respective spider teams, but it also teased a major role for Miles’ villainous alternate counterpart in Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The first 10 minutes of have been posted online and are available to view ahead of the Marvel sequel’s digital release tomorrow.
