The CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has a message: Hey billionaires, give away more of your money to address inequality and do it soon. Mark Suzman made the call in his annual letter released Thursday that led with the story of Chuck Feeney, a billionaire whose philanthropy inspired Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Melinda French-Gates. Feeney, who died in October, made a fortune through duty free stores and gave away $8 billion during his life, much of it anonymously.
Only Half Of Baldur's Gate 3 Players Have Beaten Act 1

Baldur's Gate 3 is still going incredibly strong four months on from launch, with over 130,000 players in-game at the time of writing on Steam alone. But despite its resounding success and wealth of players, only half have finished the first act.
90.7 percent got through the tutorial and crashed the Nautiloid, washing up on the shores of the Sword Coast. So, it's not that a sizeable chunk of the player base bought the game and never tried it. The vast majority at least booted up the game, made a character, and landed on the beach.
While only 49.3 percent of players have beaten Act 1, an even lower 35.8 percent have beaten Act 2.
We can only speculate why half of players haven't ventured through the Underdark or the Mountain Pass to reach the accursed Shadowlands. They could still be adventuring, uncovering every nook and cranny in the first act. They could be new to cRPGs and overwhelmed by the Dungeons & Dragons levelling and combat. Or they could be busy at camp with Shadowheart.
Whatever the case, not beating a game is pretty common. Very few people roll credits statistically. It just so happens that for Baldur's Gate 3, around half are still taking in the sights of the Emerald Grove (read: Wyll and Halsin).
Since most people didn't get through Acts 1 and 2, it shouldn't come as a surprise that very few actually beat the game.
Only 17.6 percent defeated the Absolute (or blew Gale up), and 2.7 percent did it on Tactician, the now second-highest difficulty. Only 0.4 percent have conquered Honour Mode, where you have one save file, meaning death and bad rolls are sorely permanent (unless you use this handy exploit). Still, that's 0.3 percent more than had beaten it in December.
There is another possible reason why so few people have beaten Act 1, "I keep starting over," Wooland commented. "Played since day one, early access, and now I am mentally stuck in this loop where I keep starting over with a new Tav before finishing Act 1."
There's a lot to take in and a lot that can change depending on your class, species, and - if you choose - Origin. A drow wandering into the tiefling camp opens up very different dialogue choices than a fellow tiefling would, and being a bard lets you snark your way through the goblin camp, offering to write smut for big ogres. Who'd wanna miss that?
