Shonen is perhaps the best-known category of manga and anime in the West, featuring over-the-top battles and heroic adventures. These translate particularly well to video games, and most of the big-name series, especially those released in the publication Shonen Jump, have found audiences in English-speaking territories. is one Shonen Jump hit that has, unfortunately, never had a video game localized outside of Japan.

What are the biggest movies coming in 2024? Surprisingly, there aren't as many superhero films gracing theatres this year, with DC Studios preparing to launch just one, Joker: Folie à Deux, a sequel to Todd Phillips' grounded Batman universe, introducing a new player into the mix. On the Marvel side, we've got four movies — Kraven the Hunter, Deadpool 3, Venom 3, and Madame Web — all suffered shifting release dates due to the Hollywood labour strikes. Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two was another major casualty of the strikes. Originally set to debut in November last year, it got pushed into March when the actors' union barred its star-studded cast — featuring the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Florence Pugh — from promotional duties and interviews.

India is increasingly and rapidly stepping up its game in space missions and discoveries. With a number of new upcoming missions planned by the space agency, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), India has also laid out its investment plans for a monetary contribution to the international astronomical collaboration project, which includes over 16 nations. The collaboration between the nations will be developing the world's largest radio telescope called the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), which will be responsible for studying galaxies present in the universe. 2023 was a good year for MMORPGs. Even without a major new MMO release, we saw plenty of good expansions hit older MMOs. Even with the expansion hoopla, I spent less time playing MMOs in 2023 than in any year since 2004. I just couldn't pull myself away from all of the great single-player and co-op titles that were released this year. Baldur’s Gate 3, a  trip back to Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Motorsport, and several other great games took every minute of gaming I had available.

On November 10, Humane, a 2018-founded startup known for working with AI technology, unveiled its first product called Ai Pin, a clothing-based wearable gadget. The OpenAI CEO Sam Altman-backed company presented the device as a new technology that does not require a user to spend time interacting with it and instead gets the information needed quickly so they can focus on the moment. With a displayless design, which goes against the ethos of most consumer tech products, the company focuses on voice and laser ink technology to show and tell the information through an AI chatbot. The company has now revealed that the product will be shipped to consumers starting in March 2024.

Publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works have announced Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising downloadable content Character Pass 1 characters 2B from NieR: Automata, Vane, and Beatrix, as well as confirmed that the previously announced Lucilius will launch alongside the game’s version 1.10 update on January 16, 2024. 2B will follow in late February 2024, then Vane in April and Beatrix in May. Two unannounced characters will follow in August and October, respectively.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Omega Force have announced One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 downloadable content characters Shanks and Coby, who will launch alongside Uta as part of the game’s “One Piece Film: Red Pack” on January 11, 2024.

SaGa Emerald Beyond, the next title in Square Enix’s SaGa series, launches on April 25th, 2024, for PS5, PS4, PC, iOS, Nintendo Switch and Android. Like previous games, there are multiple playable characters as players explore 17 different worlds, from forests to a world ruled by vampires.
