Good for them, but maybe too late for some. Earlier this month, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that it seemed Activision Blizzard were closing Toys For Bob's California headquarters and laying off 86 people. Still, the new independent Toys For Bob say they're working on something new and "exploring a possible partnership" with Microsoft.
Nintendo Ending Repairs for More 3DS Family Systems

In a public statement, Nintendo said that owners of the 2DS, New Nintendo 3DS, and New Nintendo 3DS LL (XL) systems in Japan will end once the company runs out of the necessary parts. While no direct timetable was given for when Nintendo would run out of 3DS parts it has in stock, the company recommended that any users needing a fix to their system should reach out as soon as possible.
The move aligns with Nintendo's planned shutdown of online services for the 3DS and Wii U consoles. The shutdown will occur on April 8 at around 4:00 p.m. Pacific, but users will not have as long to transfer any remaining eShop points and funds to their Nintendo Accounts. Nintendo gave users until 10 p.m. Pacific on March 11 to complete any outstanding eShop point transfers. At the time of writing, both Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter will be the only apps that will retain functionality past April 8. However, The Pokemon Company stated that users should move as many Pokemon from Pokemon Bank to Pokemon Home as soon as possible.
In addition to losing online functions, some Nintendo 3DS users in Japan will soon lose the option to get any issues fixed with their systems. In a social media post (translated by Twitter user OatmealDome), Nintendo announced that it would cease repairs on New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS LL (a.k.a. New Nintendo 3DS XL outside Japan), and Nintendo 2DS systems in Japan, due to reduced stock of available parts needed to make repairs possible. In early 2021, Nintendo announced it would stop offering repairs on the original Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL models due to similar part unavailability.
This latest announcement from Nintendo came nearly one year after the closure of the 3DS and Wii U eShops globally. Once Nintendo's stock of parts runs out, 3DS users looking to get repairs will need to use third-party parts and methods to get the job done, all of which come with risks. The company did not state when it would run out of the necessary parts but encouraged users who need any official system repairs to reach out to the company as soon as possible.
As Nintendo continues to support both the Switch and its rumored successor console, it comes at the cost of older consoles losing major points of functionality and support. Only time will tell when Nintendo's stock of 3DS parts will completely run out.
