New EA SPORTS WRC Performance Patch Available Now - Hardcore Gamer

Over the holiday weekend, EA pushed out patch 1.2.1 for NHL 24 which includes some fan requested updates. Full Pressure will now be easier to end on defense along with adjusting logic for hip checks and a reduction in CPU AI teammate penalties. Popular creators Nasher, Pavel Barber and Always Hockey will be coming to HUT and World of Chel. There is a trailer for this announcement which can be watched below. Codemasters has released patch 1.3 for EA Sports WRC, which has brought with it key fixes for Unreal Engine shader compilation stutter on PC, as well as added support for the game to work on Steam Deck.

Cities: Skylines 2 has received another hotfix, this time one that stops your cities from overflowing with garbage and lowers the number of stray pets popping up around town. 

The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix is coming next weekend (well the reborn one) for Formula One, and EA Sports is offering a free-to-play weekend for F1 23. From November 16 to November 20, players worldwide can experience the Las Vegas Grand Prix Circuit first hand on F1 23 for free on consoles and PC. Those that race in-game through the weekend will also earn double XP across various game modes and other rewards. Players can also expect a 60% discount from platform retailers as all in-game progress and unlocked content will carry over. F1 23 launched back in June on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The 2023 Formula One season is also coming to a close, as brand ambassador Max Verstappen has wrapped up this year’s championship.

Today, Fanatec and M-Sport, one of World Rally Championship’s most successful teams, have joined together to release a new accessory for sim racing wheels. This device is used in all M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 WRC cars, and will be perfect for the recently released EA SPORTS WRC. The Podium Button Module Rally originally launched with the new Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally bundle that combined the two components used in the real car back on October 31. These are designed by Fanatec in collaboration with M-Sport, and the Sparco R383 wheel rim used in the real car, plus the Fanatec ‘Podium Hub’ and ‘QR2 Pro Wheel-Side’.

Nacon has released some top-tier controllers over the years, and now the Revolution 5 is out for the PlayStation 5 and PC. The Revolution 5 Pro is Nacon’s sixth overall controller and features Hall effect technology in the analog sticks. This technology has been used in a few controllers over the years, but is generally used for only the sticks whereas here, they’re used in the sticks and the triggers. Hall effect sticks alone allow for a far more durable and user-friendly, with the ability to avoid friction on the stick movement being an absolute godsend for racing games, shooting games, or 3D platformers.

EA Sports UFC 5 has been out for a while and is available for 10 hours for those with an EA Play subscription on either Xbox Series consoles or the PS5. While the core gameplay has seen some tuning up from the prior entry, one thing we have never seen before is the inclusion of this many early versions of fighters. UFC Undisputed 3 had UFC and earlier PRIDE versions of some fighters – but certainly not to this extent. The first season of Origins versions of fighters has now launched with eight fighters getting new virtual incarnations based on key early moments in their careers.

In 1998, my family got a PlayStation. We were allowed one game each. My siblings chose Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider. I chose Colin McRae Rally from Codemasters. I subsequently cheated and also picked Gran Turismo for my dad, but my point is that Colin McRae Rally is one of the most formative racers I’ve ever played. EA Sports WRC is the latest chapter in that long-running off-road odyssey. With the lasting legacy of the Colin McRae and Dirt Rally series at its core and a juicy injection of official WRC content – plus the strength of the cracking F1 games as a sister series – how could WRC go wrong? Easily, it turns out, as a range of performance problems and disappointing features have combined here to jam a banana in the tailpipe of WRC’s otherwise fantastic loose surface handling, impeccable audio, and killer car list.

EA Sports WRC, the first rally game made by Codemasters with the official WRC license, is set to debut tomorrow on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X, priced at $49.99 on all platforms.
