Google, Microsoft Will Dominate AI as Computing Costs Surge

Sam Altman's goal of raising about $7 trillion to make artificial-intelligence chips tells a story beyond his borderline-insane ambitions. A Dangerous Helldivers 2 Strategy Will Have Enemies Killing Each Other

While the gameplay of mostly lends itself towards straightforwardly shooting, bombarding, or otherwise directing harm toward enemies (and often squadmates), the game still has room for plenty of creative strategies, including some that involve friendly fire that's between enemies instead of players. Though the game differs from the original 2015 in perspective, being third-person instead of isometric, it still retains the original game's chaotic, explosive gameplay and its tendency to create situations where players will call down orbital strikes on each other's heads — accidentally or otherwise.

This Steam Next Fest was dominated by two massive strategy games, and that feels weird for an event all about discoverability

When Valve first announced The Steam Game Festival – the event which would eventually become Steam Next Fest – it was an answer to the damage wrought on exhibiting developers by the pandemic. Launched in June 2020, the Festival was billed to developers as "an opportunity to get early feedback from players and build an audience for future releases." That remains true today, even as Next Fest has grown into an industry-spanning event that Valve rolls out multiple times a year – but it's more true for some games than others.
