Mortal Kombat 1 just dropped the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Peacemaker DLC. You can check it out below.
It opens with Chris Smith doing his iconic dance from the opening of his titular show, before clashing against Fire God Liu Kang, giving us a taste of John Cena's performance.
As for how he plays, Peacemaker blends brawling with gunplay, though it's made abundantly clear that he's not a long-range zoner. We see him throwing punches up close far more than using his pistol, even whipping out his shield to propel Liu Kang into the air while summoning his pet eagle to dive at enemies.
We also see Peacemaker using his helmet to put up a shield and blast opponents away. He can even use it to "torpedo" himself. As for his x-ray, Eagly pecks at the enemy's eyes while Peacemaker carefully positions his shotgun so that it looks like it's his member, firing off a blast that shatters the opponent's ribs.
Of course, a gameplay trailer isn't complete without a Fatality. He slaps on a jetpack and flies so fast at his opponent that he tears them in half, followed by a sonic boom that eviscerates their flesh, leaving little more than a skeletal torso.
Lastly, the trailer confirms that Janet Cage is joining the Kameo roster in March, AKA the female version of Johnny Cage seen at the end of the story mode.
Not only is Peacemaker the second guest fighter so far, but he's the second comic book character. He first appeared in 1966, created by writer Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyettte, but became a fan-favourite with The Suicide Squad and his own show. He's even set to appear in the anime, Suicide Squad Isekai, with Takehito Koyasu (Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Attack on Titan) lending his voice to the rising anti-hero star.
Comic characters are all the rage in this first Kombat Pack, as joining Omni-Man and Peacemaker is the iconic Homelander. But while the first two have seen their respective actors reprise their roles in Mortal Kombat 1, Homelander won't be voiced by Antony Starr who plays him in The Boys.
Peacemaker comes to Mortal Kombat 1 in early access on February 28, with the full launch to follow on March 6. We still have Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda left to come, completing the first Kombat Pack.
Mortal Kombat 1 reboots the popular fighting game's universe, following Liu Kang's altering of the events of Mortal Kombat 11. It features a broad range of fighters, an expanded story, and the all-new Kameo fighter system.

Amazon's upcoming TV take on Fallout continues to look incredible, and we appear to be on the precipice of a bold new world in which video game adaptations, like HBOs The Last of Us, don't have to be terrible. Over three minutes, the insanity and «vibe» of the bizarre post-apocalyptic setting are damn-near perfectly captured, and we can't help but get our hopes up for this one.

Mortal Kombat 1 is having a big day today. The grisly fighting game is not only kicking off Season 4: The Huntress, it's also adding a new playable character and crossplay — sorry, krossplay — functionality, opening up the community across all platforms.
Like previous entries in the series, Mortal Kombat 1 is rolling out plenty of DLC fighters, with the game’s first “Kombat Pack” including Omni-Man from Invincible, Quan Chi, Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, Ermac, Homelander from The Boys, and Takahashi Takeda.
After being announced for one of the biggest fighting game franchises, John Cena's popular Peacemaker character is also now headed to Injustice 2 on mobile. While it may not be as big of a development as Peacemaker coming to Mortal Kombat 1, fans of the antihero will be thrilled to have another game in which they can play as him.
NetherRelam has just released the patch notes for the new Peacemaker update, which is now available in Early Access to those who purchased the game’s Premium Edition. While he was once a relatively obscure DC Comics antihero, Peacemaker (real name Christopher Smith) has garnered mainstream attention over the past few years thanks to WWE star John Cena’s performance in DC Extended Universe projects like The Suicide Squad and the Peacemaker series on Max. This has led to Peacemaker being included as a DLC guest fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 alongside the previously released Omni-Man and the upcoming Homelander.
Peacemaker just went live in Mortal Kombat 1 and, as most fans had been guessing, his unique gear piece lets players change (and even remove) his iconic helmet.
