Moon Studios and Private Division announce a special reveal event for the upcoming Action RPG, No Rest for the Wicked, which also promises to be rewarding for those who tune in to watch on Twitch. Having established itself within the Metroidvania genre with the Ori franchise, Moon Studios surprised a lot of fans by announcing No Rest for the Wicked at The Game Awards 2023. The newest game trades in the bright colors of Ori's world for something more dark and violent.
However, Moon Studio's approach to No Rest for the Wicked is similar to what it attempted to do with both Ori games. Calling No Rest a «passion project» for the team, the studio is setting out to try and not only innovate the Action RPG genre but to reinvigorate it as well. Featuring an art style reminiscent of a painting, Moon Studios has also promised stunning cinematics and innovative systems, but to this point, specific details have been limited. However, things are about to change as Moon Studios and Private Division are planning a new showcase later today on Twitch.
Originally announced during The Game Awards, a new showcase event taking place on Twitch called Wicked Inside is set to deliver a new look at No Rest for the Wicked. The event promises to show off plenty more of Moon's upcoming Action RPG title including the world and story players will be delving into, some of the new mechanics Moon has teased, as well as No Rest for the Wicked's moment to moment combat. The latter will likely be one of the more interesting elements of the showcase considering it plays a much bigger role here than it did in either of the Ori games.
Interested players can tune in on March 1, 2024, from the official Moon Studios Twitch or YouTube accounts. Better yet, Wicked Inside is planned to be a Twitch Drops enabled event, following in the footsteps of other recent games like Nightingale and Last Epoch. For those tuning in there, viewers only need to accumulate an hour's worth of viewing time for specific No Rest of the Wicked content to unlock new in-game stuff. Moon Studios has confirmed players can unlock a «Dance» Gesture Emote, 2 Fallen Embers, a Weapon Shard, and an Armor Shard to use once the game launches.
For many fans of Moon Studios and the Ori franchise, No Rest for the Wicked was a major surprise considering how different it is from what the studio has become known for. However, Moon Studios has managed to prove itself with its past two games, so many are excited to see what it is capable of with this new genre and how it plans to innovate within it.
