Mojiken Studio releases free puzzle adventure game TEST TEST TEST for PC

Publisher TBS Games and developer Three Rings have announced I am Adventure Boy: Ultimate Escape Island for Switch. It will launch in March in Japan.

A new report looking into how games are consumed in French-speaking African countries Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Cameroon shows a clear preference for free-to-play titles, in an ecosystem dominated by Android.

While a “certain someone” wanted nothing more than to praise 2023 for its “gaming excellence,” people who actually lived and worked during that period know that it was hardly flawless. One of the biggest issues is that the games released that year had a huge pendulum swing when it came to quality. Plenty of titles were “Game of the Year worthy,” and then there were titles that made people wonder why they came out. One such title that helped end the year was The Day Before, a game so bad that its studio shut it down in just two months.

FuRyu subsidiary Studio Lalala has announced Kemono Teatime, a game that combines Kemomimi, cafe management, and ASMR. It will launch for PC via Steam in 2024 with English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language support.

I wasn't as sold on Half Mermaid's Immortality as the internet at large, but I'll give Sam Barlow as much rope for his FMV games as anyone else. He recently Xeeted about the studio's upcoming projects C and D, described as "next level FMV, hold onto your seats", and "reinventing 3rd person horror again", respectively. The games now have heavily redacted Steam pages, and Barlow revealed a few more details on Kinda Funny Games (helpfully transcribed a bit by VGC if you can't be arsed watching).

Obelisk Studio has secured $2 million from The Games Fund.

MachineGames has shown the first full trailer for its Indiana Jones game, revealing that Harrison Ford will reprise his role as the hero – in likeness at least.

As part of the Xbox Developer Direct Livestream, MachineGames showed off their upcoming Indiana Jones project, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Most importantly, it involves Harrison Ford(‘s likeness) and punching Nazis. Two awesome things.

One of the hardest things for gamers to see is a studio that was once on “top of the world” slowly falling apart and becoming a shell of its former self. We’re seeing this happening all over the place nowadays, with companies failing to capitalize on what’s important within the industry, layoffs happening due to “poor sales,” or even “overinvestments,” and so on. But the biggest one that has affected many studios is that they haven’t been able to make quality games like they used to, and Rocksteady Studios is the newest one to do that, which is where our story starts.

Developer Fatshark has announced a new closed alpha test for co-op action game Warhammer: Vermintide 2, this time around to test out a brand new feature—a Versus mode. The closed alpha test is slated to happen soon; it was originally planned to go live earlier but has seen a small delay.
