Sony is taking accessibility seriously with the launch of its PS5 Access Controller later this year, but great work continues to be invested on the software side as well. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the next tentpole title from PlayStation Studios, and unsurprisingly Insomniac Games has committed to continuing to advance the suite of comfort features included in the release.
While the Burbank-based developer has yet to officially announce the full list of accessibility features included in the game, a PlayStation website update has given us a glimpse into what’s planned. Most notably, you’ll be able to slow the combat speed down to 70 per cent, 50 per cent, or even 30 per cent its full speed, allowing you to more easily react to what’s unfolding on screen.
Obviously, not everyone will want to do this – it’s a toggleable option, after all – but it should help make combat encounters more manageable for those with disabilities, or people who don’t feel especially comfortable playing action-heavy games. The likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales already had great accessibility options, so we’re expecting an even more impressive suite here.

Its great to see them continue to make their titles more accessible. As Im getting older, its clear my reaction times are not what they were in my twenties and thirties, meaning there are some titles I struggle to enjoy as much, simply through capability. I haven't tried this solution yet, but its nice to think there is an option to try if Im really struggling with reaction times in this title.

We’ve now entered the final third of the year, but even though 2023’s already been an incredibly packed year, there’s still quite a few major new releases to look forward to. In that group, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is perhaps among the biggest games that people have their eyes on, and as we continue to edge closer to its release, developer Insomniac Games, too, is continuing to ramp up the hype.
We had a great time with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor when it arrived earlier this year, but let's be honest, the technical performance wasn't great. The game's performance mode, which targeted 60 frames-per-second at a reduced resolution, was inconsistent, and it even struggled to keep it locked to 30 if you used the quality mode. Today, Respawn Entertainment has just released a new patch that aims to smooth out a lot of these issues.
With August out of the way, we find ourselves nearing the business end of the year when it comes to game releases. Thankfully, for PlayStation 5 and PS4 owners, there's plenty to be excited about over the next couple of months.
The Marvel's Spider-Man 2 limited edition PS5 console is starting to be shipped out to content creators and those who secured a pre-order, and some wording on the packaging suggests the game will be taking up a big portion of your SSD. The retail box says a minimum of 98GB of free space is required to download and play Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Once the install has completed, it's possible the PS5 exclusive won't actually take up that much space, but it's still set to be a big download come 20th October 2023.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2's release date is still a little under two months away, but to get fans hyped up nice and early, PlayStation has been selling the special edition PS5 console, plates, and controller that were first announced about a month ago. These products recently shipped to everyone who has pre-ordered, and despite being a pretty snazzy looking machine in the announcement trailer, fans aren't best pleased about its overall design
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is still a little ways away, much to the agony of everyone chomping at the bit to get stuck into Peter and Miles' next big outing. There's still a little under two month to go before launch, but there is something that we can do now to prepare for the big day. It's time to start deleting all those big games you're never going to play, as the file size for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 seems to have been revealed thanks to the recent release of the game's limited edition consoles.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will seemingly need at least 98GB of storage space - double the number of the original game.
The latest generation of video games are only requiring more storage space. With more power comes bigger and better video game experiences. But this all comes at a cost with your storage drives. If you plan to pick up a few games this coming October, it’s well worth ensuring you have enough storage space on your drives. Today, we’re discovering the storage space requirement for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The PS5 was once again the best-selling console of the month in the US, both in terms of units sold and dollar sales. As per the latest data from Circana (previously NPD), Sony's current-gen console carried its record-breaking momentum into July 2023, with June's trio of heavy hitters — Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6, and Final Fantasy 16 — all retaining a place in the software charts top ten.
Another day, another impressive PS5 achievement. Today it’s the turn of European tracker GSD, which has reported a 244 per cent increase in sales year-over-year on Sony’s system this July, following various price promotions right across the world. It should be noted that this hardware data only covers select countries like France, Italy, and Portugal, with major markets like the UK and Germany excluded. Of course, we know how things have been going in Deutschland of late.
An expansion to the uber-popular PlayStation first-party exclusive God of War Ragnarok is allegedly deep in development, according to notorious leaker The Snitch. It should be noted that, while there was a period where the infamous Internet tipster was flawless, the Twitter account has changed hands – therefore the reliability of the source is more debatable than before. Recently, the social media snoop revealed seemingly accurate details about Rise of the Ronin, so does appear to be familiar with Sony’s internal affairs.
