Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Director Teases Another Marvel Character Game (& It’s Not Wolverine)

Peter Parker and Miles Morales face several villains throughout . While most of these villains have complete arcs in the game's campaign or are used to set up future appearances in sequels or potential DLC, there is one villain who appears in the game but doesn't have a clear story arc ahead.

Video game analyst group Circana has released its October 2023 U.S. Video Game Market Highlights report and in it, the company reveals that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was the best-selling game of the month. The PlayStation 5 was the best-selling console of the month, too.

There has long been speculation surrounding whether the two New York superheroes could ever meet in a game, primarily as players are able to explore The Man Without Fear's stomping ground, Hell's Kitchen across all three of Insomniac Games' Marvel titles to date.

Whether or not Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive post-launch DLC similar to the first game remains to be seen, but creative director Bryan Intihar sure seems to be hinting at not just upcoming content, but possibly upcoming content related to fellow Marvel superhero Daredevil.

To that end, there are no direct crossovers or “hints” of where Wolverine might be in this world or what his game might entail. According to the creative director for the projects, that was by design, but they are still “connected.”

From a world with increased density and scale to developments like seamless fast travel that can jump to any point on the map, Insomniac Games pushed the envelope in many ways while failing to implement an age-old option that generates fun.
