's latest season is delving into the multiverse with the introduction of an X-Men character that's often underrepresented in the gaming space. Since its launch in October 2022, Second Dinner's free-to-play, deck-builder title has seen the addition of many characters from across the Marvel Universe, from more well-known teams such as the Avengers or the X-Men, through to the Thunderbolts, a team comprised of reformed supervillains that is due to get its first movie in the in 2025 after the latest change-up in scheduling.
As reported by GameInformer, 's latest season, titled "" will introduce the teleporting mutant Blink, and her team, the Exiles. It also includes two new locations, the Panoptichron, an observatory located outside time and space that can be used to observe all realities of the Multiverse, and the real-world location of Cancun. In the former, cards that didn't start in players' decks will receive +2 power, and in the latter, power at that location doesn't count toward winning the game.
The new characters included this season are:
Name
Cost
Power
Ability
Blink
5
7
On reveal, swap the last card played with a higher-cost card from the deck.
Nocturne
3
5
Can only be moved once. When this moves, its location is replaced with a random new one.
Sage
3
0
On reveal, +2 power for each different power among all other cards here.
Namora
5
6
On reveal, give +5 power to each of the cards at another location.
Sasquatch
6
10
Costs 1 less for each card played at the last turn.
With the inclusion of the PvP focused Battle Mode in Marvel Snap, players are able to build decks best suited for multiple matches with other cards.
Despite her popularity in the comics, and appearances in the 2014 movie and the 2017 TV show,, Blink hasn't appeared much in the gaming space. She was voiced by Tara Strong in the acclaimed 2005 title, and there's a card of her in 2014's mobile card battle game, which has been delisted since September 2015. As for the Exiles, they also appeared in, but not in any other Marvel games.
Considering the group's role within the Multiverse, however, they are a good fit for 's new season. The Multiverse has become somewhat overdone as a plot element in recent years, but it's good to see Second Dinner adding new characters rather than various variants of popular characters already featured in the game, such as Spider-Man or Iron Man.
's season began May 7, 2024, and will be running until June 4. Therefore, those who wish to add the Multiverse-traveling team to their deck will have to act with haste before they're gone!
