Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has updated the official website for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name with new details and images. It outlines some of the characters that Kiryu will meet and more.
After Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Kiryu works for the Daidoji Faction as Joryu, taking on different assignments. After venturing to Yokohama to track an illegal gold smuggling site, he encounters several Daidoji agents and, after being provoked, lays waste to them. Unfortunately, a strange group appears that recognizes Kiryu, and he must now pursue them following a deal gone wrong.
Other characters include Kosei Shishido of the Watase Family and future Chairman of the Omi Alliance; Yuki Tsuruno, a Watase Family captain and its second-in-command; Akame, a mysterious individual with a network that knows everything about Sotenbori; and Kihei Hanawa who leads the Daidoji Faction. Of course, there’s Homare Nishitani 3, the head of the Kijin Clan. The name will be familiar to Yakuza 0 players, but what is his goal with Kiryu?
There’s also the question of the Daidoji Faction, built on Minoru Daidoji’s wealth with ties to politics. Hopefully, we’ll know more when Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name launches on November 9th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.

While the popularity of new battle royale titles has dulled, high-profile titles like Gunzilla Games’ Off The Grid are still in the works. Nostalgia is a helluva drug – and Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is being injected right into our veins. It’s a reminder of a simpler time when gaming wasn’t defined by frame rates, and no one gave a damn about internet forums and “opinions.” It’s a time when someone would pick up the controller, walk their pixelated character around the screen, and kick the tar out of bad guys with Chad names until the credits roll.
Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth is the next mainline Yakuza game, essentially Yakuza 8, despite its rather confusing name. It serves as a continuation of both Kiryu and Ichiban's stories, and might just be taking the series to a new setting.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the heavily Jet-Set-Radio-inspired adventure from developer Team Reptile, launches for PlayStation and Xbox on 1st September, two weeks after Switch and PC.
The Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name release date has been fully announced, so we now know when we'll all get to play the upcoming Yakuza spin-off.
It's the year 199X, and nuclear war has devastated New York City leaving its citizens to fight for survival as riots and crime engulf the streets. The city has been overtaken by criminal gangs who terrorize its ruins as they fight for total dominance.
Cook, Serve, Delicious is coming back with a ‘Re-Mustard’ (that’s a remaster - you have to admit, it’s a good pun) that adds a new campaign, typing mode and a bunch of other shiny new features to the fantastically intense meal-making PC game. The game is being revamped with new visuals, music and even a rebuild of its code to help it run in 60 frames per second, if that matters to you in a game about stacking burgers.
Ratata Arts has released the first gameplay trailer, information, and screenshots for newly announced rhythm strategy game Ratatan.

Speaking to Push Square during Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons' July 2023 release, developer Secret Base's Raymond Teo described adding highly replayable roguelite elements to create a brawler with an ingenious way of counteracting the beat-'em-up genre's innate repetitiveness.
The humble beat-‘em-up, like so many fan favourite franchises, is enjoying something of a renaissance on modern consoles, like PS5 and PS4. With the likes of Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge proving immensely popular on PlayStation platforms, it was only a matter of time before Double Dragon returned to the limelight.
