Leaker Nate the Hate, also known as NateDrake on Resetera, has provided updates on three upcoming Xbox games: the rumored new Banjo-Kazooie game, the unannounced next game from id Software, and the long-awaited Fable reboot. Leakers have been causing some headaches for Xbox recently, with reports spreading online that the company was looking to go completely multi-platform with some of its biggest games.
The Xbox multi-platform rumors pushed company executives to host a special Business Update event to address the situation head-on. At the event, it was confirmed that Xbox would be selective with its multi-platform releases, focusing on games that have already hit their full growth potential on Xbox and bringing them to other platforms to potentially grow their respective franchises. Xbox confirmed that four of its games would be going multi-plat, but it stopped short of naming the specific titles making the jump. Even so, rumors point to the four games being Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, and Hi-Fi Rush.
While Xbox is bringing some of its games to competing platforms, it also has plenty of high-profile console exclusives waiting in the wings. Recently, leaker NateDrake touched on some of the Xbox exclusives that are in development. The rumored Banjo-Kazooie game is being «reworked from its original vision & scope,» while there's a «very strong chance» that id Software's new game will be revealed this year. NateDrake also said that 2025 was the «last target» they heard about when it comes to the Fable reboot's planned release date.
In the same thread, NateDrake was also asked about State of Decay 3. State of Decay 3 was one of the first Xbox Series X games revealed, but very little about it has been revealed since then. Unfortunately, the waiting game for more State of Decay 3 information will have to continue, as NateDrake has heard nothing about that particular project.
Nate has a proven track record when it comes to leaking reliable information, but that doesn't mean they haven't had some misses, as all leakers and insiders do from time to time. Notably, they were wrong about Starfield coming to PS5. However, they retracted their claim before the Xbox Business Update that officially confirmed both Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would be remaining Xbox console exclusive games.
Time will tell if this information about upcoming Xbox console exclusive games is accurate or not. Fans should find out more come the annual Xbox summer showcase, which is confirmed to be taking place in June this year.
