Last Epoch is getting an in-game item collab with actor David Harbour

Has there ever been a better time to be a fan of survival horror games? Since the beginning of last year, the likes of Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Space Remake all scared us witless. But the horror rollercoaster is still charging away as later this month, we have the return of a horror icon.

Last Epoch's developer has disabled family sharing in an effort to combat real-money trading and botting in the popular action RPG.

A new report could indicate that 's release date could be earlier than most had previously assumed. The game's first trailer gave players an insight into the highly anticipated crime title's main story and setting and announced a release window of "". While this release window was vague, it gave Rockstar an entire year to work with, rather than a set date to adhere to and risk having to announce any delays.

The new Alone in the Dark arrives in only a few short weeks, and publisher THQ Nordic has dropped a new trailer, showcasing some of its unique features. Much like the classic Resident Evil 2, players can play through the game as one of two different characters, Edward and Emily, with the experience changing based on which one you pick. The trailer shows how even character interactions will change based on who you play as. We also get a further look at Derceto Manor and its colorful cast of characters – it seems like interacting with them will be what really sets Alone in the Dark apart from your typical Resident Evil wannabe fare. The developer of Steam hit Last Epoch has addressed the influx of negative reviews that came in after the action RPG’s bumpy launch.

Having launched out of almost five years of early access last week and quickly become one of Steam's current most-played games, fantasy action-RPG Last Epoch has laid out initial plans for post-1.0. Expect bug fixes and quality-of-live improvements soon, then new challenging fights later. The developers, Eleventh Hour Games say they're "going to have a heavy emphasis on expanding end-game content". But first, yes, more fixes and improvements to the servers which suffered and stumbled.

To get more dungeon keys in , you will have to loot the proper locations, as they are not so easily found. After years of being available in early access and a series of delays, the -inspired action RPG has finally been released as a full product in February 2024, allowing you to explore the entirety of its content, alone or with friends in multiplayer. This game has several different classes and masteries to gain control over, such as the Necromancers in . There are also several skills to master, which allows for a very customized gameplay experience.

After launching out of Steam Early Access, Eleventh Hour Games’ Last Epoch has achieved an impressive milestone. It peaked at 234,500 concurrent players recently, besting its previous record of 40,591 from March 2023, but that’s not all. The action RPG looter has achieved a higher peak on the platform than Path of Exile (211,637) and Diablo 4 (28,836).

Last Epoch was enjoying a hugely successful 1.0 launch earlier this week with over 162,000 concurrent players and favorable comparisons to Diablo's hack 'n' slashing. All that success has unfortunately strained servers and caused multiplayer issues for those not playing offline, leading to some mixed user reviews, but the studio's founder has thanked the hundreds of thousands of fans for their "patience and kindness" anyway.

Battle-weary Diablo 4 and Path of Exile fans may finally have some common ground. Last Epoch has hacked and slashed its way out of a five-year Early Access period, and the 1.0 release of this ARPG strikes a fine balance between the approachability and high-speed action of Diablo 4 and the absurdly complex character-build diversity of Path of Exile. That’s thanks to a skill system that’s both easy to understand and offers tons of room to fine-tune your character however you’d like. Last Epoch’s roughly 20-hour campaign, however, only manages to start fresh before devolving into a derivative mess, though that’s somewhat forgivable when it’s basically just there to get you to its engaging endgame anyway. If you can stomach that, as well as some technical clunkiness that is most apparent in Last Epoch’s online multiplayer, the climb to level 100 is lined with mountains of great loot, fun fights, and meaningful power boosts that made it well worth sinking dozens of hours into.

Last Epoch left early access on February 21, resulting in a sudden influx of players checking out the full release. How many players? On the day Last Epoch officially launched, SteamDB recorded a peak of over 152,000 concurrent players. One day later, the figure has grown to more than 176,000 players, and it’s not even a weekend.
