Capcom debuted a new trailer for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, an action strategy title with aesthetics inspired by Shinsekai: Into the Depths and Okami, showcasing more of the gameplay loop. It also confirmed that it would launch in 2024 and arrive on day one for Game Pass. However, it could be coming sooner than expected.
Speaking to Xbox Wire, director Shuichi Kawata confirmed it’s “currently in the final stages of development.” “This game features a very distinct blend of action and strategy genres and takes strong inspiration from various elements of Japanese culture.
“With all of that, we’re excited (and maybe a little nervous…in a good way!) to have everyone experience this game. The team is working hard to be able to deliver the best experience this game can offer, so we hope you look forward to it.”
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will launch for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It sees players guiding a Maiden towards a gate where demons emerge. Before that, they can purge the land of corruption, rescue and enlist villagers to help in their defense, and much more. The battle against the gate begins at night, culminating in the Maiden sealing it.
The title will receive more details (and perhaps gameplay footage) at Capcom Highlights Day 1, which airs today at 3 PM PT. Stay tuned in the meantime for more updates.

Players looking forward to seeing Shin Megami Tensei 5 on PC and other platforms will have their wish granted a little bit sooner. Atlus has opted to move up the release date of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, the updated version of the original 2021 Shin Megami Tensei 5.
As an open world action-adventure game with a period Japanese setting, Rise of the Ronin has drawn a lot of comparisons with Ghost of Tsushima, and the more that we’ve seen of the upcoming Team Ninja game, the more prominent the similarities between the two games have become. It’s no surprise, then, that Sucker Punch’s 2020 samurai epic served as very direct inspiration for the Rise of the Ronin development team.
Developers happy to mimic the style of Hollywood blockbusters in their video game soundtracks are stopping video game music from advancing, one of the best to ever do it - Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu - has said.
The title of "hardest Mario level ever made" will be a topic of debate for far better platformer players than me, but one very strong contender looks like the final roadblock for the Super Mario Maker fans who are rushing to beat every single level before the servers go down.
The mid-19th century was a period of enforced change and upheaval in Japan, as the United States and the West took rather forceful measures to open the country up to trading and end a traditionally isolationist policy. The move would impact everyone in the country from the Shogun, through the clans, and the regular people. Not everyone was happy with the possibility of such change, with Rise of the Ronin featuring the Veiled Edge, a group of skilled blade wielders and assassins who will defy the Shogun.
If you are a PC player impatiently waiting for Final Fantasy 16 to come to your platform of choice, you won't have to wait much longer, it seems. Producer Naoki Yoshida says that it is in the "final stages of optimization," meaning that it might not be too far away.
We’ve known since before Final Fantasy XVI was released that it would eventually be coming to PC, but Square Enix has remained rather cagey about when PS5 exclusivity might end. Well, in a new interview with Game Informer, FF16 producer Naoki Yoshida gave his most direct answer yet about the PC port of the game, indicating it may not be far off.
A series constant, Final Fantasy's Moogle is a familiar sight to many, and along with the Chocobo, serves as a mascot of sorts for the franchise. But the busted-looking Moogle we got in the recently released Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been rejected by a particular segment of the community, who are convinced the gritty redesign looks more like Matthew McConaughey playing a drug mule named Miguel than a fantastical portmanteau of mole and bat.
A senior Atlus official has indirectly dismissed the recent speculation that Episode Aigis: The Answer was cut from the day-one version of Persona 3 Reload. The DLC was announced at the newest Xbox Partner Preview event in early March, with Atlus revealing it as the third and final part of the Persona 3 Reload expansion pass.
We all love spotting references in games, especially if you manage to find something a bit niche, but when it comes to obscurity, it'd be hard to top this clever nod to a mysterious Final Fantasy 7 fight in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Capcom has released a six-minute “Gameplay Deep Dive” trailer and new screenshots for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, showcasing its unique blend of action and strategy.
