Immortals of Aveum didn’t get nearly as much traction as developer Ascendant Studios had hoped it would – something that had pretty disastrous consequences for the studio in the form of significant layoffs – but it looks like the developer is looking to put the game on PlayStation and Xbox’s subscription services in an effort to attract a larger player base.
Speaking with Windows Central, Ascendant Studios CEO Bret Robbins confirmed that the developer is in talks with Microsoft and Sony to bring Immortals of Aveum to Game Pass and PlayStation Plus respectively, something that he says he is “pretty sure” is going to happen, even if he doesn’t have a timeframe in mind for it.
“Certainly, those services give you a wider funnel,” he said. “More people might engage with the game, that’s always good.”
“We are talking to [Sony and Microsoft] about getting the game onto both of those services,” Robbins added. “We don’t have a date yet, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen, though.”
Immortals of Aveum recently also added a New Game Plus mode and new endgame content as part of a major free update. Read more on that through here.

Despite indications and rumours that Xbox might be keen on expanding its Game Pass offerings to also be available on PlayStation and Nintendo platforms, Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer has revealed that the company doesn’t have any current plans to do it.
Earlier this week, a different Xbox executive said Microsoft's mission was to bring Game Pass to PlayStation and Nintendo.
Xbox Game Pass is adding 12 new titles to its December catalogue, including two day-one releases. The standout here has to be the Remnant franchise — both From the Ashes and its newly launched sequel Remnant II, celebrated for its souls-like shooter experience that pits players against tough-as-nails fantastical monsters, across procedurally-generated levels. Its challenges can also be tackled in co-op, so it's best advised that you check out the sequel because it will have a larger active player base. Another major addition this month is Far Cry 6, setting you against the vibrant tropical island of Yara to topple its ruthless dictator Antón Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito), who is hellbent on using the Viviro, an unstable form of cancer treatment, to restore his land to former glory. It arrives December 14 on Xbox Game Pass.
After leaking earlier today, Microsoft has confirmed the latest Game Pass titles coming in December. Remnant: From the Ashes and Remnant 2 are available today for subscribers on cloud, consoles and PC, while December 1st sees the arrival ofSpirit of the North andSteamWorld Build for the same platforms.
December is at the door, which means so are the free PlayStation Plus monthly games. The PS Plus free games for the final month of the year have been announced. Starting Tuesday, December 5, PS Plus member will get access to open-world Lego driving adventure Lego 2K Drive, clean ‘em up sim Powerwash Simulator and indie exploration title Sable. All three titles will be available to PS Plus subscribers across Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/ Premium plans. The free games can be added to PS4 and PS5 game libraries until Monday, January 1. You'd of course have to keep your PS Plus subscription to continue playing the titles.
Though Microsoft generally makes it a point to announce new additions to Game Pass’ ever-expanding library with as much fanfare as it can muster, the company seems to have added to solid titles to the catalog in rather understated fashion.
As we head into the final month of the year, Sony is looking to treat their monthly subscribers with a fresh trio of games to download, with three unique titles that should please those who were lucky enough to be gifted a PlayStation this holiday season.
Sony has announced the Essential lineup of PlayStation Plus games for December 2023, providing a fresh new selection of games for subscribers to access in the near future. The PS Plus service offers general access to online multiplayer features on the PS4 and PS5, but the library of games that the service makes available might be an even bigger draw for some users. Every month brings a new rotation of Essential games that can be added to an account to keep as long as a subscription is active, so there's no rush to actually play the titles before they depart.
