Hello! Welcome to the 309th edition of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up!
This week we look ahead to the War Within and how to prepare for the next expansion as well as discuss how the Work Order system could be improved next iteration. Plus, we have some useful tips for using up excess Artisan's Mettle and a good recipe to look out for in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery!

Work Orders in 11.0
As the year begins and we look forward to all the things ahead including a new expansion launch, many have been thinking and planning next steps in gold making.
Manthieus has been wondering what can be done with the Work Order system and how it could potentially be improved...
We already know that the DF crafting system is here to stay, but alterations are going to be made for the new expansion so time to poke a sleeping bear… What would we want to see from the Work Order system in The War Within?
I will start with my suggestions then, you can all tell me why I am wrong, and suggest yours :)
1- You can not provide ANY material for a public work order.
Orders (with commissions) which cover the costs, will be filled. Crafters could very quickly see what items are in demand, by how many outstanding orders. Skilled crafters can fill 'closer to cost' orders. The only time a buyer would not know what commission to offer would be on items where there is ZERO outstanding orders. There is already a window on the buy screen to show outstanding orders, and suggests you to offer more.
If you want to lowball a crafter, you run the risk of your order not being filled.
If you want your item crafted NOW, seek a personal order via /2.An exception could be made for Soulbound Crest type upgrade tokens as these are not stricktly «materials»
2- Base BoE version of gear which can be placed on the AH.
To clarify first, these will not be the highest, max item level end result items. Base items which can then be improved/leveled/recrafted once aquired. DF crafting has heavily missed the bread-n-butter crafts of leveling gear, and catch up gear. PvP gear is niche and works well. This would also strongly help with suggesting price/value for each craft if point 1 was implimented. The AH is convenient, /2 is often not.
3- Past expansion Work Orders.
This is mostly for others to collect transmog, or benefit from having a rare pattern. Would add some great value to those who have leveled professions from many expansions.
So that is my 3, what are yours?
There's some interesting ideas here for sure, the most controversial being the first one. Public Work Orders are a mess. Any good ones disappear instantly and others have no idea they existed. All that we are left with are

The Great Circle Idea for the Indiana Jones Game Was First Conceived by Bethesda’s Todd Howard
By far, the biggest reveal at the second Xbox Developer Direct was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The new first-person action/adventure game in development at MachineGames looked great in its first presentation and isn't too far off, either, since it is slated to launch later this year on PC and Xbox Series S|X.

Indiana Jones Steals the Show at the Xbox Direct
Microsoft’s second (hopefully annual?) Xbox Developer Direct went, like the first, exceptionally well. While we didn’t get a shadow-dropped killer exclusive – and let’s be honest, that’s not an expectation that Team Xbox probably wants to set – we did still get the surprise of a behind-the-scenes look at Square Enix’s upcoming Visions of Mana. Better yet, we got a good look at gameplay from Obsidian’s upcoming first-person RPG Avowed, we got the Hellblade 2 release date we’ve been waiting for, and best of all, we got the proper reveal of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the new first-person (!) action/adventure/puzzler/whip-simulator that’s being executive produced by Elder Scrolls and Fallout director Todd Howard. I’m extremely pleased with Microsoft’s showing, and it helps set the tone for what should be a very good year of Xbox exclusives.
