How Did Pokémon’s Loyal Three Come Back To Life In The Teal Mask DLC?

The fairy Pokemon Clefairy has always had a bit of magical mystery to it and is known to gather under the full moon. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are honoring this lore by adding Clefairy mass outbreaks to the game in honor of today’s full moon. In Scarlet & Violet, mass outbreaks are when you see a large number of the same Pokemon gathered in the same place, which means your chance of catching them is greatly increased.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet had a mixed launch. Even though it was critiqued by players due to poor quality, the latest games in the Pokemon series sold more than ten million copies in their first three days. That likely means quite a few of you are playing the game's Teal Mask DLC right now. If you chose to hold out based on the early reactions, or simply because you had other things going on at the time, Pokemon has dropped a little bit of good news for you this week.

As unintentionally glitchy as Pokémon Scarlet and Violetoften felt at launch, their introduction of a massive, truly open world felt like a major step forward for the core franchise, and the promise of DLC made it seem as if Game Freak might have a solid plan to evolve the titles even further. Unfortunately, The Teal Mask — the first half of Scarlet and Violet’s announced DLC drops — doesn’t bring any of the sorely needed bug fixes that players have been begging for since the games debuted earlier this year. 

The arrival of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s first DLC, the Teal Mask, brings a range of new and returning Pokemon to the game. You’ll have the chance to encounter these Pokemon as you explore the region and work your way through the story. As you might expect, several of these Pokemon are shiny-locked.

A handful of new and returning Pokemon appear in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC. However, some unique Pokemon have a distinct twist in this DLC, such as Ursaluna, a Pokemon that originally appeared in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It has a new form in The Teal Mask called Bloodmoon Ursaluna, and you can find it while exploring Kitakami.

Kitakami sits at the base of a mountain range, rice paddies and fruit orchards surrounding the small village. Rivers run through the mountains, which expand well past the village limits, to create an idyllic little world to explore in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet’s new The Teal Mask DLC. It’s an altogether brief adventure, and it doesn’t reach the heights of the one I undertook when Scarlet and Violet were released last year — but it’s brimming with charm and character nonetheless.

The final boss and ending of ’s DLC can be reached within a few hours of gameplay, as the first part of the expansion pack is not too long. There is much to do before and after completing the main campaign, such as catching Bloodmoon Ursaluna in ’s . Though the conclusion of the main story is not too hard to achieve, it is vital for players who want to fully complete the content of the expansion. In fact, it is necessary for those who want to fill in the entire Kitakami Pokédex in .

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask is an interesting bit of DLC for a few reasons. The biggest one is that it’s part of a set of two, which means the story that it tells is going to continue with The Indigo Disk when that releases later this year. The other reason it’s interesting is that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are, at least in my opinion, some of the worst entries in the franchise we’ve had.

Applin is a Gen 8 Pokémon that originally was introduced with two evolutionary forms, Appletun and Flapple, but in 's DLC,, Applin has a new evolutionary form, Dipplin. Despite that there are three different evolutionary forms for Applin, all three are the same Grass/Dragon type and each one requires a special item.

One exciting new aspect that comes with the release of 's DLC,, is the addition of new Pokémon, including Poltchageist who can be evolved into Sinistcha. This new Grass/Ghost Pokémon can be found in one very specific location in the Teal Mask and has two forms, each of which requires a specific item to evolve it.

This isn’t really a secret, but a Pokémon could kill a human at any point if it wanted to. These beloved creatures harness elemental powers well beyond the strength of any human, and even a lowly Weedle could easily maim or kill a person. If you really think about it, every Pokémon trainer is only one Razor Leaf or Flamethrower away from death.

The star of the Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is Ogerpon. This totally new Legendary Pokemon is exclusive to the Kitakami Region and comes equipped with a set of masks you can use to swap forms between battles, giving your Ogerpon a degree of customization. You’ll find three masks as you complete the main story and be forced to battle Ogerpon in all of its forms to finally capture it.
