Developer FarBridge has announced that upcoming VR strategy title Homeworld: Vast Reaches will be coming to Meta Quest 2 and 3 on May 2. The studio has also revealed that a SteamVR release is planned for the title as well for later this year. The game is currently available to wishlist on the Meta Quest Store and Steam.
Homeworld: Vast Reaches will put players in the shoes of a human commander controlling a fleet of spaceships. Owing to it being a VR title, Homeworld: Vast Reaches will seemingly place a special emphasis on the size and scale of the massive sea battles that the Homeworld series of RTS games is famous for.
The game was originally announced earlier this month. Its story is set to be a spin-off, and it is currently unclear whether it will connect to the original Homeworld titles, or the upcoming Homeworld 3 in any way. The game will, however, offer players fine control over the positioning and tactics of their space fleets. Players will also be able to choose to scale the battles up or down, allowing them to pick between table-top battles or massive room-scale wars.
The next mainline entry in the Homeworld franchise, Homeworld 3, is currently still in development, and is coming to PC on May 13.

While games like 2013's Aliens: Colonial Marines are considered to be some of the worst licensed games made with the IP, others like Aliens: Dark Descent are decent enough entries that offer a fun experience. One game that most fans argue has yet to be surpassed in terms of horror is Alien: Isolation.
