Helldivers 2 PS5, PC Almost Matching Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Sales in UK | Push Square

Shift Up’s demo for Stellar Blade, its upcoming hack-and-slash action RPG, is now available for PS5 players after accidentally going live earlier this month. Featuring the opening section, it sees players controlling Eve as she battles the Naytiba. The demo is roughly an hour long and outlines the basics of combat while featuring the first boss fight.

Shift Up and Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that a free demo for its upcoming sci-fi action game Stellar Blade will launch this Friday, March 29.

Last week was packed with a number of notable new video game releases, though as per the latest weekly physical sales data released by the Gfk for the UK (shared by GamesIndustry’s Christopher Dring on Twitter), none of the new releases were actually the region’s best-selling game last week. EA Sports FC 24 took the No. 1 spot, with Dragon’s Dogma 2 coming in at second place.

Harold Halibut, the game made entirely out of real-life models and figures, will launch for PS5 on 16th April 2024, it has been confirmed. A new trailer debuted during last night's Future Games Show, which you can catch up above. Sculpted characters and sets have been 3D scanned into the experience, which is set on a city-sized spaceship underneath an alien ocean. A PS4 version will launch at a later date.

Sony has established a brand new production line for PlayStation 5 discs in Brazil, which should help make it easier for players in Latin America to obtain physical media for the console.

A new PS5 patch is available now for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth which makes further improvements to the title’s presentation. Despite being critically acclaimed, many have been disappointed with the quality of the sequel’s visuals – especially in Performance Mode, which targets 60 frames-per-second. In addition to improving the graphics, the update adds a ‘Sharp’ and ‘Soft’ filter, allowing you to finetune the title’s looks.

PS5 deals have hit both the US and UK in Amazon's Spring Sale, offering up a fantastic Spider-Man 2 bundle with a price cut to boot in the former region and a record discount on the console itself across the pond. That means players on both sides of the ocean can grab Sony's latest console with some serious value attached. 

Sony may have revised its PS5 sales estimate for the current financial year, which will end on 31st March. But unsurprisingly it still wants to sell as many systems as possible, which means it’s going to make one last push for that all-important 21 million units target it’s been eyeing. And how does it intend to do that? One last round of price promotions.

Helldivers 2 continues to buck the trend of physical game sales, as it's not only still in the top 10 — it's up several places. The co-op shooter has returned to fourth after dipping to eighth last week, meaning it's really holding its own against the competition. After learning the game has sold a grand total of 8 million so far, we can't say this really surprises us.

Helldivers 2 was only released last month and, already, it has had rave reviews among gamers. Early reports from those who have played the game applaud its challenging nature and it has provided a great follow-up to the first game, which was released in 2015.

Pre-orders for physical copies of the PS5’s upcoming Stellar Blade have opened in South Korea, and the goodies are stunning. As spotted by a Shift Up fan account, buyers can choose between a vinyl soundtrack or a themed USB stick, with the former sporting some particularly fetching artwork. In fact, we’re not sure why this isn’t the box art, because it looks absolutely incredible.

Update: Well, even if you did manage to grab the Stellar Blade demo on PS5 (it was mistakenly released on the PS Store for roughly 25 minutes before being pulled), you probably won't be able to play it from this point on. Sony seems to have updated the demo's license, meaning that if your PS5 is connected to the internet, you'll now be blocked from booting it up.
