UK Sales Charts: Helldivers 2 Refuses to Budge Among Heavy Hitting Competition | Push Square

Helldivers 2 continues to buck the trend of physical game sales, as it's not only still in the top 10 — it's up several places. The co-op shooter has returned to fourth after dipping to eighth last week, meaning it's really holding its own against the competition. After learning the game has sold a grand total of 8 million so far, we can't say this really surprises us.
Above it are the games you'd expect, like EA Sports FC 24 in first, Hogwarts Legacy second, and WWE 2K24 in third. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, however, moves down in its third week from number two to number five. A little further down, Grand Theft Auto V is still hanging around in eighth, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is back up a few spots in ninth.
Here's the latest top 10 in full (physical sales only).

Having grown up playing every PlayStation console to date, he's developed an eclectic taste, with particular passion for indie games, arcade racers, and puzzlers. He's also our go-to guy for Sonic-related matters, much to his delight/chagrin.
Defying industry trends! Great job, Arrowhead and Sony!
Hogwarts Legacy still selling like hotcakes despite the boycott and the fact that we all want live service games and not single player games these days.
Well deserved, sky is really the limit with this one
It's really quite fascinating to consider why Helldivers 2 is doing so well in comparison to other live-service games. While I'm massively enjoying it and have no intentions of stopping playing any time soon, if I take a step back it can look rather repetitive. Having your grind contribute, even in a tiny way, to the overall meta-narrative, definitely helps.
There's a very interesting GDC talk to be made in comparing different live-service games and trying to discern why some succeed and others hit the skids.
To be honest, nothing really released last week, so the next week’s charts will be significantly more interesting as we’ve got some big new titles entering the fray.
Jesus… Mario kart 8 just keeps on selling XD
@Enigk the boycott was from a small minority of people who think they had more power then they actually did.
Great game, it's a lot of fun. Can't wait to see the new enemy factions they' add in the future.
@StrickenBiged definitely agree. I’ve platinumed it and still want to keep playing. I love the war backdrop and the in game store isn’t as intrusive in other games of this nature.
I think they just got the balance right. Fun game, good price, simple game play loop, action si-fi violence and the right amount of straight faced humour.
I like that medals are
