Man, y'all really like mechs. The long-awaited Helldivers 2 mechs hit the game earlier today following the liberation of planet Tien Kwan, and it seems the community's enthusiasm has outpaced developer expectations and server limitations once again.

Helldivers 2 has proven a smash hit on both Steam and PlayStation, as players fend off hordes of bugs with guns, explosions, and the kitchen sink. You'll need all of that if you want to survive, as Helldivers 2 is proving to be quite a tricky game when it comes to difficulty. Most players are making through the game with relative ease, though there is one type of mission that is proving a little too chaotic for players to deal with.
Escort missions are the absolute worst at the best of times, but when you're being bombarded with a mountain of automatons almost constantly, they can feel downright impossible. Head on over to the Helldivers subreddit and I bet you'll find a couple of people complaining about the difficulty of escort missions, with one post in particular by KissYourHomie becoming a breeding ground for complaints.
In this post, KissYourHomie says that the civilian escort mission in particular is "absurdly hard", especially on higher difficulties. To prove their point, they share an image of their game in which they're being absolutely obliterated by several large enemies, with their allies presumably also lying in a ditch somewhere as well. It's an opinion shared by quite a few people, and KissYourHomie's post has received a fair bit of support as a result.
Most of the complaints seem to boil down to the lack of anti-armor weaponry becoming available early, coupled with the game bombarding players with armored enemies like Hulks. Other players talk about their experiences of having to spam orbital lasers in order to get some breathing room, while others talk about having high-level squads with other team members, only to get decimated anyway.
With so many people complaining about the high difficulty, it's possible that developer Arrowhead will tweak things once it has more pressing issues under control. Those that have been playing the game since launch will know that Helldivers 2 launched in a pretty rough shape on Steam due to far more players logging in than the developers expected. Things have stabilized since then, and Arrowhead has addressed issues and communicated with players very well, though it's possible the devs may still be ironing out some kinks.
Once Arrowhead does get around to fan feedback and requests, the difficulty of escort missions will probably be the first thing on the list, right next to buffing anti-vehicles options. Players have been calling for better anti-vehicle options since launch, something which is making higher difficulties feel a little unfair.

Several Final Fantasy 14 players took to the streets of Ul'dah to pay respects to the late Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, with campfire vigils and outfits based on characters that Toriyama drew over his career. These vigils in Final Fantasy 14 are ongoing at the time of writing and are being held across several data centers, such as Aether and Crystal in North America.
"As a level 50 player with the platinum trophy, I honestly hated playing this game after the update - the meta only existed because most other options needed a buff," one player posted to the Helldivers 2 subreddit, echoing a sentiment the community has been sharing since yesterday's patch.
Helldivers 2 can be a tricky game at the best of times, with soldiers constantly fighting back against hordes of Automatons and Terminids bigger than buses. There are some enemies out there that strike fear into the hearts of Helldivers more than others though, and you'll struggle to find a more hated enemy than the Charger.
Helldivers 2 creative director has hit back at fans pitting the Helldivers 2 franchise against Halo, saying we «need more compassion and union in the world, and less rivalry.»
Helldivers 2 is a pretty chaotic game, having players fend off waves and waves of big bugs and deadly robots on an intense battlefield. It can be a little overwhelming at times, especially if you're trying to remember and input a strategem code whilst being chased by a group of Hulks, but some fans have come up with a rather clever method of shortening the time spent inputting the code, or just skipping the process entirely.
Although has a wide variety of devastating Stratagems for players to call down on their enemies (or their fellow Helldivers), one tool in particular stands out, especially against the more heavily-armored Automaton faction. As gets further from its somewhat troubled, but wildly successful initial release, players have started to pin down a sort of meta for the game, finding which weapons, Stratagems, and armor are the most effective for any given situation. Even among the game's best tools, however, one specific Stratagem stands out, especially at higher difficulties.
With their gold supplies drying up, Palworld players are turning to the Black Marketeer for help, but not in the way you might think.
fans are no strangers to innovating on the battlefield, but one player has made calling in support from Stratagems easier than ever before. After dropping down onto whatever besieged planet catches their attention, Helldivers are provided access to a range of Stratagems that involve plugging in a series of inputs for their orbiting Destroyer to send down equipment, supplies, and even deadly explosives. In the heat of battle, that process can be rather difficult, but fortunately, for some players, it just got much simpler.
This week, Helldivers 2 has seen a glut of gameplay leaks showing off officially unavailable stratagems, including of the upcoming mechs and, more recently, of a vehicle reminiscent of Halo’s famous Warthog. But what’s going on here? The community has a number of explanations.
More players of Helldivers 2 are getting what looks to be early access to combat mechs and transport vehicles in the game. These features are apparently planned for official inclusion in the suite of options for Helldivers 2 at some point in the future.
Helldivers 2 is a pretty difficult game, especially if you're playing solo, but you'll struggle to find a planet in the game tougher than Malevelon Creek. Its reputation is so brutal that fans quickly dubbed the planet "Robot Vietnam" due to its jungle environment, ridiculous difficulty, and massive population of murderous robots. It's one of the game's more popular planets, but the reputation alone wasn't enough to stop it from succumbing to the robot horde.
