Do you ever get the feeling that someone is HEAVILY IMPLYING something and they want to make sure you’re not missing the message? Well, the team over at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth seems to be doing that, and it’s going to make things interesting when the game finally arrives on PS5 later this month. Specifically, they’ve been teasing repeatedly that a certain key death that could happen once again in the upcoming title might not go how you’d expect. This was boosted by the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, who, during an interview with Vandal, noted that he desired to give the game’s cast a “happy ending.”

The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth playable demo comes with some evident visual issues, especially in Performance Mode, but it seems like low resolution is not what is causing everything to look so blurry.

It’s been another cold week, and one that’s proven perfectly suited to wrapping up and playing video games. February, too, promises a host of new launches across different genres from big-name developers like Rocksteady Studios, Square Enix, and Ubisoft. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League kicks off this month, bringing players back into the beloved Arkham universe, albeit with a live service twist. While previous Batman Arkham games were narrative-focussed single player titles, Suicide Squad is co-op looter shooter with colour-coded guns, content drops, and microtransactions.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the newest installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake project and one of 2024’s most-anticipated games, tells the tale of main protagonist Cloud Strife and his loyal companions who explore a massive world outside Midgar, the city of Mako, as they pursue Sephiroth, one of the most iconic antagonists in video game history. 

There is going to be a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play, Sony has confirmed, and it is set to take place on February 6th. Not much detail has been given of what will be shown from the game, but it will be extended look so returning characters, locations, and combat will likely compromise the majority of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth State of Play.

When Square Enix released the first entry of the “remake saga” back in 2020, gamers were stunned by how well the publisher had remade the original title despite focusing only on the Midgar storyline for the “first part.” The graphics were stunning, the voice acting was on point, and the updated combat system made it feel like an RPG while also being “upgraded” to fit modern times. However, a few flaws held it back, mainly in the party system.

When Square Enix announced the “remake saga” for their all-time classic RPG and then noted that the game would be “cut into sections” to ensure quality throughout, gamers were a bit concerned. The game was in “full form” back on the PS1 and obtained legendary status, so why wouldn’t it be “In full” here? Well, their gambit paid off, and the first title featuring the “Midgar Saga” was a hit, not just because of the graphical upgrade but also because of the new elements fleshed out that part of the story. So, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, gamers are expecting more of the same.
