Genshin Impact update 4.5 arrives March 13th.

Xiao Luohao, head of the writing team for Genshin Impact, revealed in a recent interview that some of the unanswered plot points from Sumeru are, in fact, future content. Though the main appeal of Genshin Impact has always been its colorful cast of characters, fans also fell in love with the world of Teyvat and its lore. The format of annually traveling to different nations during the player's journey has allowed the developers to cleverly pace out the flow of content, and design character banners focused around each region of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact has officially revealed the second half Event Banners for Version 4.5, and to no one's surprise, Kaveh is once again missing from among the list of 4-Stars. Though Version 4.5 of Genshin Impact could be described as a quiet patch, with no new zones or artifact domains, its Flagship Event «Alchemical Ascension» has been incredibly popular among fans. Not only did it give players a chance to stock up on Primogems for a few extra pulls on Itto and Chiori's banners, but it also introduced a fun mini-game that many fans are hopeful becomes a permanent fixture of Genshin Impact in the future.

A new character in 4.6 leaks are hinting at what may have major story implications, though the details are still very scarce. Although the game is currently in Version 4.5, there have been many leaks and rumors about 4.6. Most are centered around the new and highly-anticipated playable character known as Arlecchino, while a few others detail the addition of a new area, as well as a new world boss and even the planned events and quality-of-life updates. Now, however, a new Version 4.6 leak has arisen, detailing story elements.

Genshin Impact is expected to release Version 4.6 on April 24, 2024, and players can now have an estimated Primogem count for the new update. While Genshin Impact has been praised for its addictive open world exploration and engaging elemental combat, it is a gacha game at heart, and as such, players are expected to spend Primogems to obtain powerful characters for their team. Whereas Version 4.5 had a Primogem drought that could easily rival Version 3.2, the upcoming patch is set to have a much higher count by comparison.

Genshin Impact has revealed a new combat-only event that gives out plenty of Primogem rewards. Occasionally, Genshin Impact brings combat-heavy events wherein players go into special areas and take on waves of enemies. These festivities are always valid for a limited time, which encourages Travelers to rush in not to miss bountiful rewards. Aside from Primogems, players receive character and talent upgrade materials at the end of events.

Chiori was introduced during the Genshin Impact Version 4.5 update. Originally from Inazuma, she brought her unique eye for fashion to Fontaine. Now, she joins the Traveler and Albedo as a 5-Star Geo Sword character who can create Geo Constructs.

Genshin Impact is debuting Arlecchino in Version 4.6, and the Fatui Harbinger is looking to bring a unique exploration skill to the table showcased in a recent leak. The cast of characters in Genshin Impact is diverse, with each of them having a different Element, Weapon, or hailing from a different Region of Teyvat. However, the Archons and the Harbingers have always been a special kind of subgroup – with Archons being powerful support characters, and Harbingers being selfish hypercarries. Arlecchino falls into the latter category.

Genshin Impact is giving Cyno his second Story Quest in Version 4.6, but it may also be introducing a future playable character as well. Over the course of its history, Genshin Impact has proven to be no stranger when it comes to teasing upcoming characters through in-game content. Xianyun's human form was teased in the Lantern Rite a year before her official debut, and Charlotte made her first appearance in Version 3.7 despite joining the roster in Version 4.2.

With beta testing for Version 4.6 in full swing, a reliable source in the Genshin Impact community has revealed which characters will have Story Quests in the new update. Story Quests have been a steady way for Genshin Impact to tell individual stories concerning a character, reveal important lore about the world of Teyvat, or even introduce a new weekly boss. Version 4.6 is set to be one of the biggest content updates in Genshin Impact's history, as it will also launch with multiple Story Quests on top of the new zone and Flagship Event.

Recent Genshin Impact leaks show two new bosses and Remuria enemies that will allegedly arrive in version 4.6. With the closed beta test for Genshin Impact's update 4.6 now underway, leaks about the upcoming content have arisen. It was revealed that the next version will expand Teyvat into new sub-regions, Bayda Harbor and Petrichor Island, to fill some empty spaces on the map. In addition, it will bring back a fan-favorite domain event, Vibro-Crystal Research, that requires players to dispatch enemies within a limited time to earn Primogems and other rewards.

Arlecchino’s entire animation reel in 4.6 has been leaked, showcasing what may be one of the coolest sets available so far. Aside from being the well-known Fatui Harbinger, also called The Knave, Arlecchino is one of the most anticipated playable characters in the game. She was leaked long before the release of Fontaine and, with the arrival of the Nation of Hydro, made her debut as an NPC. Now, Arlecchino’s release in 4.6 has been officially confirmed by developer HoYoverse, though details about how she operates are still scarce.

Genshin Impact is in beta testing for Version 4.6, and as a result, players can finally have their first glimpse into Arlecchino's idle and combat animations. While Version 4.5 has launched for Genshin Impact, the community is already anxiously awaiting the next patch. The reason for this is twofold: Version 4.6 will see the debut of Arlecchino, the third Fatui Harbinger to join the playable cast, and it will also take players to Remuria in the Sea of Yore.
