A new character in 4.6 leaks are hinting at what may have major story implications, though the details are still very scarce. Although the game is currently in Version 4.5, there have been many leaks and rumors about 4.6. Most are centered around the new and highly-anticipated playable character known as Arlecchino, while a few others detail the addition of a new area, as well as a new world boss and even the planned events and quality-of-life updates. Now, however, a new Version 4.6 leak has arisen, detailing story elements.
As seen in footage obtained by the leaker known as Foul, and shared by a user on Reddit, a cutscene in the rumored World Quest series added with Version 4.6 may showcase what seems like a whale-type creature swimming from a portal and merging with a larger and unmovable version of that same whale’s body. Shortly after, that which looks like the new and reformed creature in the 4.6 leak swims off. Though the video does not describe it in any capacity, there may be more to this whale-like figure than meets the eye.
As was highlighted by users replying to the Reddit post, there is a very good chance that this whale figure is actually Scylla. Although it may look a lot like the All-Devouring Narwhal boss or even Childe’s Monoceros Caeli (which was inspired by the Narwhal), this may actually be the chosen form of Scylla, a creature from Remuria known as the Dragon King. For reference, Remuria was the ancient civilization that once occupied the area where Fontaine is currently located in and is the foundation on which the Nation of Hydro was built later on.
Scylla is an important figure in the story of Remuria, which can be found in lore bits all around Fontaine but was condensed by . It is said that Scylla created an army of other vishaps and barbarians to challenge the tyrannic rule of Remus, the god-king ruling over Remuria. This was met with resistance by Remus’ servant, Boethius, who ordered their enemies to be destroyed. Ultimately, Remuria went to war with Scylla’s tyrant-opposing army and sent the nation into chaos.
It is said that Scylla, Boethius, and Remus all died when a storm, believed to be the Abyss, engulfed Remuria. If the leaked footage is true, however, Scylla may have not perished and may even be regenerated in Version 4.6. If so, Fontaine will have an extra draconic entity alongside the Hydro Dragon Sovereign, Neuvillette.
As is the case with any leak, this footage should be taken with a grain of salt, as it may be inaccurate or subject to change.
This could have major story implications and even suggest that Remus and his servant, Boethius, also somehow managed to survive in the Abyss. For now, it is difficult to determine what course the story will take, but if
