A leaked new character for 4.7 has allegedly been detailed, giving more insight into what may be the first playable character of their type. While the action RPG is still in Version 4.5, gearing up for the anticipated release of Arlecchino in 4.6 and the arrival of new story missions and an entirely new area, there are already a few rumored details about the subsequent patch, including leaks about the new characters. There are rumors that Clorinde will finally make her debut, but also that a new unit will arrive, ending a long absence.
According to new information obtained by the leaker known as HXG, shared in a now-deleted post on Reddit, both Clorinde and a long-rumored character named Sethos will be released as playable characters in Version 4.7. Clorinde’s leaked release in 4.7 seems to match other leaks and rumors, though this may be one of the first times Sethos is actively mentioned. Another Reddit post highlights HXG saying that Sethos is a 4-star character in response to a query by another user. This, however, is where the speculation about Sethos starts.
While details about their Vision and weapon type have not yet been revealed, users in the comments of the second Reddit post discuss the possibility of the leaked Sethos character for Version 4.7 being a Geo unit. If they are, indeed, Geo, this could end a long wait, as Sethos is also rumored to be from the region of Sumeru. Even though the Nation of Wisdom was released nearly two years ago, no Geo character from Sumeru has ever been released in.

The discussion even raises the possibility of Sethos using Geo through sand-based abilities. Thematically, this would match the rumors about the character being from the Great Red Sand desert region in Sumeru, though it is uncertain how this would be translated into actual gameplay. One user even mentions that they expected Cyno to be a Geo character with sand abilities, though he, of course, turned out to be a 5-star Electro character in.
Another interesting discussion to arise from the conversation is how sand-based Geo abilities could unlock new Elemental Reactions in the game. One user suggests that by interacting with Hydro, players could trigger Quicksand, while Pyro and Electro could interact with Geo for Glass. These, of course, are nothing speculative details and desires from players. Nevertheless, even if said playfully, there is a lot of hope deposited onto Sethos and their rumored release in 4.7.
So far, HoYoverse has not given any indication that new Elemental Reactions are being added to the game, nor has any of these actually leaked.
As is the case with any leak, this should be taken with a grain of
