Darth Vader may have only just been added back to Fortnite as a mini-boss for this year's Star Wars event, but he's already been nerfed due to fan complaints that he's too much of a pain to fight.
As many Fortnite fans have already pointed out, 2024's Star Wars event has been a bit of a let-down compared to previous years, with Lego Fortnite getting almost all of the attention. Not only did we barely get any new skins, items, or gameplay mechanics, but the things that have been added or brought back this year don't seem to work right.
Perhaps the most infamous example of this is the new Yoda Backbling that was added to Fortnite last week, which quickly ended up being removed from the Item Shop alongside Dagobah Luke and C-3PO due to it causing squad crashes when the Zoidberg Scuttle emote was used with it equipped. Yoda isn't the only Jedi Master getting a bit of a kicking from Fortnite, as now Darth Vader is being hit with some changes.
As pointed out by reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX, a new hot-fix for Fortnite has significantly nerfed the Darth Vader mini-boss that can be encountered in Battle Royale matches. Before the update, Darth Vader had 700 Health and 700 Shield, which made him an infamously tough target for players.
To make matters worse, defeating Darth Vader is the only way you can get access to his Lightsaber, which is also the only one featured in this year's Star Wars event.
Fortnite has had tougher bosses in the past (Zeus, anyone?), but Darth Vader's difficulty was something that a lot of fans complained about, especially since many didn't consider his Lightsaber to be a worthy reward. Epic has countered this by giving him a dramatic nerf in the latest hot-fix, bringing his Health and Shield down to 550 each.
That means that Darth Vader now has 1,100 overall health instead of 1,400, which is a pretty dramatic shift. It still means that he's going to give players a good run for their money, but he shouldn't be the cause of so many spawn deaths like he has been since the start of the event.

Planet of the Apes is one of those franchises that won’t go away. It's been 28 years since was released on Nintendo 64, but players have finally been able to solve one of its last remaining mysteries. A lone cabin door at the bottom of the game's fourth course, (aka. Snow World) was previously thought to be unopenable from the outside, setting it apart from the majority that players come across in the game which open both ways. The door is clearly fully functional, as Mario has always been able to use it from the inside after diving into a chimney at the top of the mountain and going down a slide, but hitboxes prevent players from making their way back through it after leaving the cabin.
