Since then, a flurry of leaks has surfaced, giving us a glimpse into GTA 6's rumoured Vice City. Just a few weeks ago, Rockstar Games revealed that the GTA 6 trailer will arrive in December, generating a lot of hype among gamers. Now, the alleged GTA 6 preorder date has been leaked online. Rockstar Games has been one of the world's most popular gaming companies in the last few decades. A major part of its success is particularly attributed to Grand Theft Auto or GTA, its open-world action-adventure video game. There have been many entries into the series to date, and fans are patiently waiting for the release of the next GTA game which is ubiquitously known as GTA 6. However, apart from the confirmation of the GTA 6 trailer release date, there has been no information so far, with Rockstar Games keeping tight-lipped about the game. The world has been given a tiny glimpse into the uber-secretive world of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar North thanks to a fascinating new blog from former technical director Obbe Vermeij, who, in just a few short weeks, has shed light on the studio's cancelled spy game Agent, discussed a zombie game abandoned by the company after it was deemed to be too «depressing», and more.

GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games were once working on a zombie survival game set on a Scottish island, which sounds like a mixture of GTA: Vice City and legendary Arma mod DayZ. That's according to former technical director Obbe Vermeij, who joined Rockstar North in 1995 back when it was called DMA Design, and left in 2009 following the release of GTA 4. In the run-up to the GTA 6 trailer reveal this month, he's started blogging about the development of several Rockstar games, from GTA through grotty snuff film simulator Manhunt to cancelled projects such as the zombie title and Cold War stealth fest Agent.

Rockstar Games, makers of the incredibly popular Grand Theft Auto series, finally announced earlier this month that they would officially reveal GTA 6 in December. In a series of posts from Rockstar's X account, studio co-founder Sam Houser confirmed that the much-awaited trailer for GTA 6 would arrive in December. A new leak, however, has unearthed evidence about scrapped story DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5. First released in 2013, GTA 5 still features on best-selling charts every month a decade into its run, thanks to GTA Online's thriving success and massive player base. Despite demand from fans, the main game never received a story expansion, with Rockstar instead opting to provide regular updates to the money-spinning online mode. The leak also reveals a canned sequel to 2006's Bully, a cult favourite title from Rockstar that never received a follow-up.

At some point in early December 2023, the first trailer for the long-awaited will be released by developer Rockstar Games. While the announcement of a first official look at the game was met with online fanfare from the fanbase, it has not stopped the near-constant stream of leaks and rumors — and one rumor in particular is incredibly interesting for story-mode aficionados. A recent leak on the site GTAForums, alleges that Rockstar is planning to elongate the lifecycle of by releasing updates to keep players engrossed in a way that could change the franchise forever.

Though developer Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped on the vast majority of leaks, refusing to comment on anything other than to confirm the game is in development, these latest rumors, leaked in late 2023, appear to indicate that the franchise's long-implemented weapons system and gunplay are in for a monumental overhaul. While some are unquestionably for the better, others are potentially troubling.

GTA 6 is getting a trailer in early December, Rockstar Games has confirmed. The news follows a recent report claiming that the developer was planning an announcement ‘as early as this week.' Studio co-founder Sam Houser attested to those claims, adding that next month also marks Rockstar's 25th-anniversary celebration, and thanked players for their continued support over the decades. It's been over 11 years since Grand Theft Auto V launched in 2013, which at the time of writing has sold over 190 million copies — 5 million of them were sold in Q4 2023, thanks to next-gen upgrades and the GTA Online segment still going strong.

When first I played GTA Online back in the Xbox 360 days it felt like an afterthought, a chance to play some random good-for-nothing in GTA 5's sizzling alt-Los Angeles, securely cloistered away from the events of the all-important singleplayer story. Having built yourself a no-name crim, you galloped around cranking out cash and XP by means of glorified sidequests handed down by headliners such as Lamar. Skip forward to 2023, and as Alice0 observed when we discussed Rockstar's GTA 6 announcements this morning, GTA Online is effectively an MMO with ten years of updates, expansions and community projects under its belt. The no-name crim has become the star attraction.
