Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Hits Mobile Platforms Next Month

In the vast world of Square Enix gacha games, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is undoubtedly one of them. The Final Fantasy VII mobile spinoff has attracted ample curiosity since its original announcement, given that it aims to functionally remake the original game alongside the “compilation of” titles. But with Ever Crisis’ latest trailer, Square Enix reminds us that the upcoming RPG will add some new lore too.

Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis features a brand new storyline with a young Sephiroth, and the younger character is going down a treat with fans.

Square Enix has released the “Countdown to Launch” trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, which is due out for iOS via App Store and Android via Google Play on September 7.

Square Enix continues to show small snippets of tantalizing information about their upcoming RPG. Two of the newest Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis announcements have been about new stories and Chocobos.

In a recent appearance on a Taiwanese gaming channel (as translated by IGN), outspoken Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida lamented fact that there are multiple platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.). Given Yoshida's penchant for making headline-worthy comments, we think the Square Enix veteran is being a bit cheeky here, but it's still an interesting point.

Fans of Final Fantasy VII are being spoiled with many new titles set to release over the next couple of years. We enjoyed a wonderful remake not too long ago, but Square Enix isn’t holding anything back with their dive into the FF7 lore. Who would have thought a once complete classic would spin off into a self-contained franchise?

As we all know, if a video game is beloved, it will tend to get lots of attention from its developers/publishers and “blossom” in ways that gamers will typically appreciate. When Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles was released on the Nintendo Gamecube in 2003, it was hailed as one of the best games in the franchise. With its unique look, fun story, tight gameplay mechanics, and more, gamers and critics fell in love with it. The game would get spinoffs and a remaster to showcase how good it was. However, many are stunned the game never got a true sequel.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, a mobile game that expands the FFVII story and universe, will be available on iOS and Android on September 7th. Square Enix first announced the mobile game along with the battle royale action title Final Fantasy VII The First Soldierback in 2021. It was supposed to come out in 2022, but delays pushed back its release, and the company didn't start closed beta testing for the game until July this year.
