Final Fantasy 14’s Duty Support System Now Allows for Solo Dungeons for all Expansions

During its recent Fan Festival in London, Square Enix released a new extended teaser trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Dawntrail. The trailer, which you can check out below, is 3.5 minutes long, and works to primarily showcase the tone of the expansion’s new setting.

During the recent Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in London, producer Naoki Yoshida unveiled the first of the two new Jobs coming to the game in its upcoming expansion, Dawntrail. The Job, named Viper, will be melee DPS, and can be seen in action in a new video below.

So, if you haven’t heard, some big things are going down in Final Fantasy XIV. Not only is a new expansion coming that will help start a new story and give players even more things to do, but a new collaboration will make Square Enix fans happy. Specifically, a collaboration with the most recent entry from the beloved RPG series will happen as Clive Rosfield arrives in the game and joins the Warriors of Light! Even more specifically, there’s a questline that is called “The Path Infernal,” and it’s there that you can meet Clive and battle monsters that appear to be like Eikons. It’s no secret thatFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a massive game, but while there is a copious amount of content, fans are excited to see where the story goes next. Various trailers have showcased Zack Fair, who ventures to Midgar following the events of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, but a familiar foe from Final Fantasy 7 Remake also appears. Square Enix announced the “Viper” job, a Final Fantasy XI crossover alliance raid, and more for the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion at Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 in London. A Final Fantasy XVI crossover for the 6.x series was also announced, and an open beta test for the Xbox Series version of Final Fantasy XIV is planned for mid-January to February 2024.

Square Enix hosted a panel for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at New York Comic-Con 2023 hosted by Critical Role’s Matt Mercer, in which the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth voice cast discussed their experiences voicing the game’s iconic characters. During the panel, Matt Mercer confirmed he will voice Vincent Valentine, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi appeared for a surprise question-and-answer session at the end.

Following a barrage of news and announcements last month, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has looked very good. From new Synergy Attacks in combat to extensive side content with over 100 hours of gameplay promised, there’s a lot for fans to dive into, including new playable characters like Red XIII, Cait Sith and even Sephiroth (albeit briefly).

Square Enix has taken to social media platform X to explain the artwork featured on the cover for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Created by creative director of the game Tetsuya Nomura, the artwork is meant to represent three distinct worlds that Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Zack Fair find themselves in.

Official Square Enix figures of Aerith, Tifa, and Yuffie are discounted to less than $90.

Nintendo’s next-gen console has been in the leaks a great deal recently. Allegedly set to be capable of outputting visuals that’ll be comparable to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S thanks to its implementation of DLSS, recent leaks have claimed that the Switch 2 will be seeing simultaneous releases for a lot of major multiplatform games. However, if you were hoping that the console would also get a port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake – as some have speculated – it seems that won’t be the case.

Square Enix and Applibot’s free-to-play mobile remake of Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, launched worldwide earlier this month, and in its early days, the game seems to have enjoyed a great deal of success. In fact, Square Enix has also confirmed that it’ll be bringing the RPG to even more players.
