Fanatical’s monthly build-your-own bundles can be a great value and the November 2023 incarnation i impressive. This bundle allows you to get three games for $9.99, five games for $14.99 and seven games for $19.99 with a diverse range of titles available. The available games include Rhythm Sprout, Land Above Sea Blow, Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, Inertial Drift, SpiderHeck, Batbarian: Testament of Primordials, Spacelines From the Farout, AEON MUST DIE!, Syberia: The World Before, Warhammer: StormGround, Soundfall, In Other Waters, Pumpkin Jack, Minoria, a double pack of Neo Cab and Orwell: Ignorance is Strength, TinkerTown, Industria, Kingdom Two Crowns, Roadwarden, and Founders Fortune.
There are a few games in this bundle I already had, like Pumpkin Jack that made this an easy bundle to buy just to give friends a game or two. Pumpkin Jack in particular is perfect for the season given its Halloween horror theming and hack and slash gameplay. Upon launch, it was a bit janky on PC, but it’s been patched up nicely and runs well on a wide variety of PCs. Neo Cab is another must-buy here and getting that in a double-pack with Orwell is an even better deal. Neo Cab is one of the best adventure games on the market now and nails the concept of a cyberpunk cabbie’s adventures.
Minoria is a top-shelf Metroidvania that doesn’t get nearly enough love, but delivers fast gameplay and its dark themes and tone are perfectly in-tune with the gameplay. Soundfall is a brought and colorful rogue-lite/looter shooter with twin-stick mechanics and a rhythm focus to deal out even more damage. It’s a fantastic gateway game for those who want to dabble in rhythm games to some extent, but don’t want to go whole-hog into that genre. TwinkerTown is one game I had to pick up to try it out since it looks like a sprite-based action-centric town-builder and allows for dungeon-exploring with a vibrant art style and detail level that wouldn’t have been out of place on the Saturn back in the day.
SpiderHeck looks like a riot for those wanting a lightsaber duel with spiders, while Rhythm Sprout is something I had to pick up just to see how well it blended a bright and cheery world with an action-heavy premise and rhythm gaming given how much I enjoyed Soundfall. Land Above Sea Below’s concept of being a limitless puzzler and sorta-builder had me intrigued too and it looks gorgeous as well.
