A new glitch introduced in Fallout 4 after the release of the next-gen update currently allows gamers to shoot giant exclamation points when using some of the game’s new guns. Despite Bethesda’s promises to improve Fallout 4 with this eagerly awaited update, the patch broke quite a few aspects of the game.
Fallout 4 And 76 See Surge In Players Following TV Show Release

Now that the Fallout TV show is here, and fans of the series are unsurprisingly ripping each other to bits over it, uranium fever is at an all-time high. It's been over 6 years since we last got a new Fallout game - the less said about Fallout 76's reception at the time the better - but the appetitie for a new title has never been more clear, as several Fallout games have experienced a massive spike in players ever since the show's release.
Being the two titles that are the most readily available on multiple platforms, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 have benefited the most from the Fallout TV show's recent release, and are experiencing Steam peak player counts that Bethesda hasn't seen in years. We'll start with Fallout 4, arguably the title that's gained the most attention over the past couple of days, which recently reached a peak player count of 35,364 according to Steam DB.
That's a pretty huge chunk of players, but it's more impressive when you realize that this is the highest amount of players that Fallout 4 has seen at one time in almost six years. You have to go all the way back to October 2018 to see Fallout 4 exceed that number of players, having managed a peak player count of 36,543 thanks to Bethesda making the game free to play for a weekend.
Fallout 76 has also seen a pretty big rise in players over the past couple of days. At the time of writing, Fallout 76 currently has a peak player count of 17,687 on Steam, and you have to go back to October 2022 to find a higher peak player count. In fact, Fallout 76's current peak player count is the second highest it's ever been since the game launched, and while the numbers may not be as big as Fallout 4's, that's arguably more impressive.
Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 have also seen pretty healthy spikes in players on Steam, as well as the original Fallout games and even Fallout Shelter. You know that your TV show adaptation of a game franchise is successful when pretty much every Fallout game ever created is seeing a spike in players.
This is just Steam figures too, and with almost every Fallout game seeing spikes in players, it's safe to assume that more people will be diving into Fallout once again on consoles too. We know they are on Xbox at the very least, as industry analyst Mat Piscatella revealed earlier today that Fallout 76 is seeing its highest engagement rate on Xbox Series consoles since October 2022. Fallout is back, baby.

Crawl out through the fallout, baby! I've watched two episodes of Amazon's recently released Fallout TV show, a series for and about Walton Goggins' rizz (a thing the kids say). I've been on the Goggins hype train for over a decade at this point, and it's great that - oh sorry, I'm being told that the Fallout TV show is in fact about Bethesda's post-nukepocalypse RPG series of video games, and as such has given a massive player bump to said video games on Steam.
