The Empress of Battahl is in trouble. As soon as you arrive in the city of Bakbattahl in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll be sent to aid the Empress. An assassin is hunting the latest leader of Battahl, and saving her is absolutely essential if you want the best ending in the game. There are two quests related to the Empress — Shadowed Prayers and A Candle In The Storm. We’ll cover how to complete both of these quests and get the best possible result in A Candle In The Storm.

Off The Pilfered Path is one of the more complicated quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Like most quests, the game really doesn’t explain what you need to do — and you can fail this quest spectacularly if you’re not playing carefully. This quest is only unlocked after completing a different quest to clear out the Coral Snakes Camp on the road to Bakbattahl. In that quest, you’ll meet the character Hugo who’s captured at the end and locked in jail. While exploring Bakbattahl, you’ll be contacted to try and locate the hidden location of the Coral Snakes boss — and the rest of the quest gets complicated. Getting Hugo to talk is a real challenge that requires patience. Here’s what you need to do. And even if you do something wrong, it is possible to complete this quest anyway.

offers ten unique player character classes, catering to an array of diverse playstyles. Initially, only four starter Vocations are available; the rest, including the melee-focused Warrior class, can be unlocked by completing various quests or visiting a Vocation Maister. Unlocking the Warrior class involves completing an engaging quest that is challenging yet still manageable in the early stages of the game.

All nine vocation classes in have NPC Maisters you can meet in various locations and act as teachers for the ultimate abilities associated with each archetype. These masters of their craft can give you powerful scrolls to learn each technique, but only if you complete different tasks for them. The only way to master a vocation is with the assistance of Maisters you find in the world.

Unicorn Overlord is jam-packed with classes to discover. Every major location in the game is overflowing with new things to experiment with, and part of the fun is digging through it all to find the perfect class to fit into a specific role.
