In case you missed it, Disney turns 100 this year, which means that it’s the perfect time for 100 Disney movies to come out in a special edition box set complete with goodies. Lo and behold, such a wonder does exist, and it’ll be available for purchase on Nov. 14! Huzzah! The Disney Legacy Animated Film Collection includes 100 titles on Blu-ray, along with digital codes for each title and a booklet including theatrical poster art. It also comes with a lithograph for Disney’s upcoming animated movie Wishand a little crystal Mickey ears hat, because if you’re the type of person who wants to own 100 Disney movies on Blu-ray, you probably also want a little crystal Mickey ears hat.
The box set includes basically every Walt Disney Animation film ever made (but only the fully animated ones, so don’t go looking for Mary Poppins or Song of the South) and also every Pixar movie. It also includes a smattering of other movies, like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Planes, and A Goofy Movie, along with an assortment of Disney sequels (the ones that actually made it to theaters, it looks like).
The set will be available on Nov. 14, though pre-orders at Wal-Mart go live on Sept. 18. The official price hasn’t been revealed, but it’s been rumored to clock in at around $1,500. This one’s definitely for the hardcore collectors out there. If anyone wants to go splitsies with me, we can chip in and claim our faves (I call dibs on Mulan).
