Diablo Immortal has released a trailer to reveal the new Tempest class, which will arrive in the game on May 23. Like the other Diablo games, Diablo Immortal players must choose a class to create a character and face the dangers of Sanctuary. Each Diablo Immortal class offers a gameplay style based on different weapons and skills.
Seven classes are available to Diablo Immortal players, these being the Blood Knight, Barbarian Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. For Diablo Immortal players who prefer melee combat, the options are Barbarian, Crusader, and Monk. Meanwhile, Demon Hunter and Wizard are the ranged classes, and Necromancer is the Diablo Immortal class that, like other titles in the franchise, is based on summons. Diablo Immortal players have a very familiar selection of classes, especially for veteran fans. Now, that list will grow with the debut of a new warrior to protect Sanctuary in Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal announced the new Tempest class that will be available to players on May 23. In the trailer, Diablo Immortal shows a burning boat with people trapped inside it and about to be attacked by demons. It's then that the Tempests appear, defeating the demons and saving the people. The Tempest is the newest class since Diablo Immortal added the Blood Knight last year, bringing back for fans one of the enemies seen in the first Diablo game.
The Tempest is a warrior who wields dual blades and harnesses the elemental powers of water and wind to face Diablo Immortal's enemies. The second part of the trailer gives players a sneak peek at what the Tempest's gameplay will be like by showing the new class using water abilities to move and unleash powerful attacks. According to a post on Blizzard's official blog, Diablo Immortal's new class is a «mysterious wanderer who has emerged from the frigid mists of the North to push back the darkness.» The post also promises a deep dive into the Tempest's abilities and a short story from senior narrative designer Ryan Quinn.
The Tempest will arrive in Diablo Immortal as part of a free update that will add a new quest specifically for the class. Players who want to test out the Tempest's powers will be able to do so by using Diablo Immortal's class change feature and converting one of their existing characters. As for what's to come for Diablo Immortal, Blizzard revealed in March an exciting roadmap called «The Year of Unmaking,» which will eventually bring Diablo himself to fight players.

Diablo Immortal has had its ups and downs, just as its big brother Diablo IV has, but I have to admit the team working on Immortal has constantly been adding things that pique my interest. The Blood Knight was the first new class added to the Diablo franchise in nine years and it was an interesting spin on what I’d imagine a Castlevania protagonist would play like in the Diablo world. The Tempest is next and after playing for a while, I’m happy to report that the class adds an interesting set of new abilities and moves that make it a compelling option for players. I couldn’t tell if it would land in the S-tier category during my playtime, but it’s certainly got a lot of style that sets it apart from the others.
