Diablo Immortal Adds New Limited Event that Previews Next Update, PvP, and Returning Events

Diablo Immortal has had its ups and downs, just as its big brother Diablo IV has, but I have to admit the team working on Immortal has constantly been adding things that pique my interest. The Blood Knight was the first new class added to the Diablo franchise in nine years and it was an interesting spin on what I’d imagine a Castlevania protagonist would play like in the Diablo world. The Tempest is next and after playing for a while, I’m happy to report that the class adds an interesting set of new abilities and moves that make it a compelling option for players. I couldn’t tell if it would land in the S-tier category during my playtime, but it’s certainly got a lot of style that sets it apart from the others.

As you might’ve heard, Hades 2 is out in early access, offering up the much-anticipated sequel to Supergiant’s mythical (and delightfully thirsty) roguelite. Though the sheer amount of polish and Stuff in even its pre-release form might have you thinking that a full 1.0 release can’t be too far down the line, the game’s creative director reckons we’ve still got around a year to wait before it’s considered all finished up.

With the release of the Tempest, its newest character class, Diablo Immortal, is creating a storm. Coming on May 23, 2024, this thrilling addition is expected to upend the battlefield with its unique fusion of mobility and rage.

Sony has revealed the lineup of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in May. This month's PS Plus offerings are led by Red Dead Redemption 2, the acclaimed action-adventure Western from Rockstar Games. Other games coming to game catalog include co-op shooter Crime Boss: Rockay City, multiplayer first-person shooter Deceive Inc., survival sim Stranded: Alien Dawn and more. The games will be available to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tier members as part of Game Catalog starting May 21.

Diablo 4’s long-awaited revamp to loot, crafting and progression is finally available with Loot Reborn. The fourth “season” for the action RPG loot adds new mechanics like Tempering, Masterworking and much more. It also revamps the Codex of Power to make managing Aspects easier. Fallout 4’s Next-Gen Update arrived last month to much fanfare and hype, especially following the success of Amazon’s TV show. It wasn’t without issues, whether it’s the UI not scaling with Ultrawide displays, breaking mods or oddly targeting 60 FPS in all modes on Xbox Series X.

Bungie releases update 7.3.6.4 for Destiny 2, making another special ammo change in the Competitive playlist, adding a trio of Crucible maps, while also addressing a number of bugs in activities like Pantheon and Onslaught. Since the launch of Into the Light, Destiny 2 has seen a resurgence of sorts from the community, with returning weapons like Mountaintop and Luna's Howl, alongside new activities like Onslaught, Pantheon, and The Whisper, players have certainly found new things to enjoy while waiting for the highly anticipated Final Shape expansion.

Diablo Immortal has released a trailer to reveal the new Tempest class, which will arrive in the game on May 23. Like the other Diablo games, Diablo Immortal players must choose a class to create a character and face the dangers of Sanctuary. Each Diablo Immortal class offers a gameplay style based on different weapons and skills.

The latest Mortal Kombat 1 update adds Mavado to the roster of Kameo fighters and fixes several issues with the game experience and the moves of some fighters. Mavado joins Mortal Kombat 1 shortly after Ermac. Both fighters are available to players who own Kombat Pack 1 or the game's Premium Edition, but it's also possible to purchase them separately.
