Days before release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 spoilers - from boss fights to every suit in the game - have begun spreading online

Like the first, features a vast array of villains and several exceptional bosses; however, not all of the interactions with bosses are equal in excitement, fun, or difficulty, some of the game's boss battles are far more challenging than others. Though each boss battle in presents a unique set of challenges, a few of these fights will push the player's ability to its very limits.

Having finished Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Tamoor and Lucy sit down with the game's senior creative director to discuss how the story came together and dissect everything about the ending.

It seems like you can't swing down a single street in Spider-Man 2 without bumping into a reference or two. Even taking away the many, many suits you can unlock that are direct nods to other Marvel properties, you still have locations like the Wakandan Embassy and Sanctum Sanctorum that you can find while thwipping across New York. You don't find many nods to properties outside of Marvel though, but it seems like there is one during one of the game's biggest moments. Be warned, we're heading spoiler territory.

The emotionally charged conflict of climaxes in a final boss battle against Venom, who challenges your mastery of the game's combat systems. Four distinct phases test your knowledge of both wall-crawler's abilities, with new elements changing the battlefield at every step. You will play as Peter Parker and Miles Morales to take down the biggest threat either hero has ever faced.

Considering how successful Insomniac Games’ first two Spider-Man games (Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales) were, it wasn’t going to be difficult to convince fans to purchase the sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, on release day. With the highly anticipated new title, the studio takes everything they’ve learned from their previous superhero games and pushes the envelope even further with a slew of exciting features that fans of the franchise have been eagerly waiting for. So, before we even get into the details, it’s safe to say Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is everything you hoped for and more. It’s a masterpiece and easily the best game the PS5 has to offer so far.

A recent interview with voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, who plays Peter Parker in , revealed that the first game in the series was almost missing a key death. The beloved superhero franchise just received its third entry this week, continuing the story of dual protagonists Peter and Miles Morales. The newest game is the most expansive yet, taking players all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens as they go head-to-head with villains like Kraven and Venom.

It’s time to Web-Swing. With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 out now worldwide, you may already have taken your first tour of Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens by web or Web Wings. Put Peter and Miles’s masked aerobatics to good use to quell crime and tackle new emerging threats, browsed the new suits and styles with relish, tinkered with a range of accessibility options. 

Spider-Man 2 will receive a New Game+ mode as part of a post-launch update, later this year. As per Insomniac Games Community Director James Stevenson, just like the 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man, those looking to replay the title and mop up all the side quests might have to wait a bit, though for now, simply beating it once grants access to an ‘Ultimate' difficulty setting for a fresh playthrough. For the uninitiated, a New Game + mode generally allows players to plunge back into a game's campaign in an overpowered state, as the in-game character carries over all unlocked abilities, tools and weapons, and gear upgrades.

There’s a bonus boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — and this is one extra side-quest you won’t want to miss. Peter Parker and Miles Morales encounter a new activity called Mysteriums a quarter of the way through the story. These challenge rooms task you with earning the best score and going for gold. They might seem like a fun diversion but finishing them is critical. You don’t even need to earn gold. A bronze score is good enough.

Spider-Man 2 is packed with classic villains from the web-slinger’s deep roster of bad guys.
