Critically-Acclaimed Xbox Exclusive is Now on PlayStation 5

Upcoming Xbox console exclusive game State of Decay 3 could be getting its first major update in four years. State of Decay 3 was first announced in 2020, and was in fact one of the first-ever games revealed for the Xbox Series X/S family of consoles. The CG trailer helped set the tone for what State of Decay 3 may be aiming for thematically, but otherwise didn't reveal anything all that substantial about the game.

According to the latest rumors, Gears of War 6 could potentially be «the moment» for Xbox Series X in the same way that the original Gears of War was «the moment» on Xbox 360. With Gears 5 ending on a cliffhanger and the franchise remaining one of the biggest Xbox console exclusive franchises in existence, the announcement of Gears of War 6 is a matter of when, not if. While it remains to be seen exactly when Microsoft will pull the curtain back on Gears of War 6, anticipation has been ramping up for a potential reveal this summer.

Xbox is currently testing an update that will address some of the lingering problems with its line of Wireless Controllers. Microsoft introduced a new controller with its Xbox Series X/S consoles, but didn't reinvent the wheel with the design. The new Xbox controller is very similar to the Xbox One controller, but with a slightly revamped shell and the Share button smack-dab in the middle.

UPDATE 4/4: The problems with the PlayStation Network did not last long at all. According to Sony, PSN services have all been fully restored, with the PSN Status page updated accordingly.

Hi-Fi Rush was recently released on PlayStation 5, where an analysis identified the game to be running slightly better than on Xbox. Despite being a first-party Xbox title, Hi-Fi Rush continues a trend of such releases either performing worse or lacking features on Xbox Series X when compared to the PS5 launch.

Microsoft has confirmed seven more games coming to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service in the first half of April 2024. Microsoft has already added a few games to Xbox Game Pass as part of the April 2024 lineup, with a new one available as of today.

Xbox Game Pass has confirmed all the games leaving the service on April 15, and unfortunately for fans of the genre, multiple horror games are on the chopping block. Games are removed from Xbox Game Pass every couple of weeks or so, with the departure announcements often coupled with the Wave 1 and Wave 2 new addition reveals to help soften the blow for subscribers.

One of the best games in the Xbox Series X/S’ library, Hi-Fi Rush, recently made its way over to PS5, as part of Microsoft’s initiative to bring more of its first-party titles to rival platforms, and though the rhythm action title’s PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are virtually identical where their visual and technical aspects are concerned, interestingly enough, it turns out it actually has a slight edge on Sony’s console.

An Xbox 360 fan acquired a classic version of the popular console, but accidentally updated it, erasing the Blades dashboard in the process. When the Xbox 360 first launched, it did so with the Blades dashboard, a unique set-up that many remember fondly. There have been calls for Xbox to bring back the Blades dashboard in some capacity, but nothing to that effect has actually been announced at the time of this writing.

Recently-released data indicates that Princess Peach: Showtime sales are outpacing the PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin in Japan. Princess Peach: Showtime released on March 22, an extremely busy day for the gaming industry. While it's rare for major new game releases to land on the same day, Princess Peach: Showtime shared its launch date with PS5 exclusive Rise of the Ronin and Capcom's open world action-RPG Dragon's Dogma 2.

The upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive action game Stellar Blade will be missing a photo mode when it launches on April 26. Stellar Blade, developed by Shift Up and published by Sony, has been generating quite a bit of buzz lately. There's been a great deal of discussion about the game's main character, and beyond that, many have come away impressed with the game's over-the-top action. Many PS5 gamers are looking forward to Stellar Blade's release later this month, but luckily, they don't have to wait that long to play it.

Fans of the supernatural first-person action-adventure Ghostwire: Tokyo can pick up a new gift in-game for free. Developer Tango Gameworks and publisher Bethesda promoted the freebie to commemorate the Ghostwire: Tokyo second anniversary.
