Company of Heroes Collection is Coming to Nintendo Switch on October 12

Since its launch in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch has gone from strength to strength, even surpassing the sales of Nintendo's previous best-selling console in the US, the Wii. This becomes even more impressive due to the fact that it is massively underpowered compared to its two main rivals in the gaming console industry - PlayStation and Xbox. While it doesn't get exactly the same AAA titles as its rivals, it does have its own exclusives which are extremely popular, especially among young gamers. Nintendo recently held its Direct event where it showcased several games that are due to launch soon, despite the Switch now nearing the end of its life-cycle and the Switch 2 reportedly in development.

Get your trigger fingers at the ready. Feral Interactive, the team behind the recent Lara Croft Switch ports, has announced Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal will be coming to iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch.

The Shiren series has long been a niche one even among the Mystery Dungeon titles. It’s Spike Chunsoft’s own entirely original take on Mystery Dungeon that isn’t based on existing properties such as Dragon Quest or Pokemon and has long since been popular in Japan but not quite as sought after anywhere else. The last entry we saw localized was a remake in the form of Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fates which was originally a DS title before it made its way to modern systems. The newest title, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island was originally announced as coming to Japan with no word on a localization. Fortunately fans no longer need to worry as we’ve finally gotten our confirmed English release for the title to make a splash onto Nintendo Switch next year. The new art style is no longer sprite based and instead entirely 3D models rather akin to the recent Pokemon Mystery Dungeon remake we had a few years back. This charming new take on Shiren seems absolutely packed full of life and is promising to bring back the classic gameplay and challenge that so many knew and loved it for.

A new rumor has come up for the Nintendo Switch 2, this time about what games we might be seeing for the console’s launch.

We don’t see too many big western-themed AAA titles launch into the marketplace. However, Rockstar Games had made a real hit when they took on Red Dead Redemption. The video game franchise grew a strong following where players were eager to dive into a life of being an outlaw. With Red Dead Redemption finally seeing a launch on the Nintendo Switch, there was a bit of a surprise that came after. A ratings board listed Red Dead Redemption 2 coming to the marketplace for the Nintendo Switch. 

The Nintendo Switch is long past the traditional lifespan for a console and its technological limitations are rendering it unable to stand up to current generation systems for new games. Titles such as have struggled in making versions that can run on the outdated system, and Nintendo itself appears to be focusing heavily on remakes and remasters. As beloved as the Switch has been, and with as popular of a console as it continues to be, the next system will need to include many impressive features if it hopes to see similar numbers in sales.

Fans of the tough pink cream puff can rejoice as one of his games is coming to Nintendo Switch Online. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror is being added to the Game Boy Advance legacy collection on Nintendo Switch Online on September 29. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror will be joining four Japan only titles that made their US debut on Switch Online earlier this month which include Kirby’s Star Stacker, Quest For Camelot, Joy Mech Fight and Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day! Because Kirby & The Amazing Mirror is a Game Boy Advance title accessing it requires both the Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack membership while the other titles only require Nintendo Switch Online membership. Continuing its trend of bringing games from The Dark Pictures Anthology to the Nintendo Switch, developer Supermassive Games and publisher Bandai Namco have announced that The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will be coming to Nintendo’s platform on October 5. The game is now also available to pre-order on the eShop.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games will release The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope for Switch via Nintendo eShop on October 5 for $19.99, the companies announced.

Company of Heroes Collection will launch for Switch via Nintendo eShop on October 12 for $29.99 / £19.99 / €24.99, Feral Interactive announced. Pre-orders are now available.
