Grand Theft Auto VI was incredibly hyped going into December. We knew this would be the month Rockstar Games would unveil their first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game. While we finally have the trailer readily available, plenty of reaction videos and content are emerging online to help indicate what we might see in this installment. However, one YouTube channel, Lavkia, compared Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto VI. While it might not be a direct comparison to the map, it will at least give you some insight into what areas of the map might have been expanded.

GTA 6 trailer 1 dropped on Monday and confirmed that Rockstar is taking us back to Vice City, the fictional Miami-inspired setting of 2002's GTA: Vice City. Naturally, as more than 20 years have passed, the vibrant city has seen quite the glow-up, and so the good folks at the Future Games Show have remade the new trailer using familiar scenes from the OG Vice City, showing exactly how far we've come from the days of polygonal palm trees and cityscapes.

Instead of waiting and putting out the reveal Wednesday at 9am ET (7:30pm IST) — as Rockstar initially planned, the studio released the trailer early Wednesday morning. “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube,” the publisher said in its post on X.

The wait is finally over, and perhaps a little prematurely so. However, the trailer was leaked online a few hours ago. Once the news broke, Rockstar Games also released the game officially, much ahead of the schedule. The trailer, even when it was dropped unexpectedly, confirms many small details we have seen over the past year, such as the first female protagonist Lucia, and the Vice City setting. Additionally, the trailer also reveals the launch date, or more like the launch year of the game as well.

With the GTA 6 location officially revealed, it's time to start packing for another trip to Vice City. And based on the rushed-out GTA 6 trailer, we'll be spending a lot of time away from the headlining resorts, cityscapes, and beaches this time.
