CES 2024: ‘World’s coolest and lightest’ HP Omen Transcend 14 Gaming Laptop LAUNCHED

A new update for the PC Game Pass and Xbox versions of Palworld has fixed some of its many, many known issues today, but those hoping for some fixes to its online multiplayer options will sadly have to wait a little longer. Currently, those playing on Game Pass still don't have the ability to join or create dedicated servers for up to 32-player multiplayer like their mates on Steam can. Instead, they remain limited to just 2-4-player co-op via the use of friend codes, meaning that Game Pass players aren't having quite the same experience as their Steam counterparts.

Steam’s newest hit survival game, Palworld, has been accused of plagiarising designs from Pokémon, as social media users negatively highlight its creator’s historical association with generative AI tools.

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can claim 14 games today, 9 of which are available via PS Plus Extra and 5 of which are available via PS Plus Premium. These games also join the superb PS Plus free games for January 2024, which include A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves the World.

Indiana Jones And The Great Circle appears to be the title of Bethesda and Lucasfilm's new Indiana Jones game created by Wolfenstein developers MachineGames, if a recent brace of domain registrations are any indication.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), an American labor union which represents thousands of media professionals, has announced what it describes as a “groundbreaking AI voice agreement” with artificial intelligence voice technology company Replica Studios. 

HP has introduced the HP Omen Transcend 14 laptop, alongside a lineup of notebooks, at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The latest 14-inch Omen series gaming laptop from HP has been launched alongside HP Omen Transcend 16, Omen 16, and Victus 16.1. HP claims that the Omen Transcend 14 is the world's coolest and lightest 14-inch laptop. The gaming laptop features an OLED display, local AI capabilities, and an RGB backlit keyboard. The Omen Transcend 14 laptop runs on the latest Intel Core Ultra chipsets and comes in two different colour options.

Sony has made it abundantly clear that it intends to expand the audience for PlayStation’s biggest properties through TV and film adaptations, and sure enough, plans have accelerated with the likes of The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, and Gran Turismo. Beyond that, several other projects are also confirmed to be in development- including, curiously enough, Gravity Rush, a franchise that was never really among Sony’s biggest, and looks unlikely to get a new game instalment at any point in the foreseeable future.

The Gravity Rush movie just got a surprise glimpse during Sony's CES 2024 presentation. No release or plot details were revealed but the footage, a showcase for Torchlight — the company's newest visualisation tech — showed one of the characters leaping off a building, straight into some rubble dominated by a red, winged demon ready to fight back. The video largely cuts between CGI and motion capture clips, proving that previous reports about it being a live-action adaptation were wrong. Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) was attached to direct the film then, from a script by Emily Jerome (Panopticon), marking her second writing gig.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 has finally kicked off in Las Vegas and top brands are revealing their new and latest electronic devices - laptops, chips, mobiles, TVs and much more. The most interesting aspect here is how these tech companies are bringing innovative products and investing in artificial intelligence. A new year brings a whole new crop of Alienware gaming laptops to the CES showfloor and 2024 isn't disappointing. Dell is showing off three new devices this year; the Alienware M16 R2, Alienware x16 R2, and the massive Alienware M18 R2. 

Razer has announced its new lineup of Blade gaming laptops for the coming year, sporting sparkling new screens, new Intel and AMD processors… and one notable absentee. This looks like it might be the end of the line for the Blade 15, the erstwhile best gaming laptop and an object of tech desire for an absolute age.
